Neither of these books will give the novice a sufficient introduction to this complex program, now in its seventh release. Your collection might make do with an introductory text to an earlier version. But for advanced users moving up to Illustrator 7 from 6 or over to Illustrator from other programs, such as Corel Draw or Freehand, these books will offer all the latest developments.

The Illustrator 7 Bible is definitely the source for anything and everything that has to do with Illustrator. This is the most comprehensive authority on all Illustrator subjects. Anyone who is struggling to understand Illustrator should have the Bible on their bookshelf!

If you are trying to learn illustrator for the first time, you better find another book. This book will make your valuable time wasted a lot. It was very painful for me to figure out the steps shown. If you are experienced illustrator user, that might be different story, but, as a beginner, I say 'do not waste your money and time'.
