Author and Photographer: David Wootton
I am a commercial photographer based on my family's farm in the West Norfolk Fens.
I bought my first camera in 1977 and started out as a keen amateur.
In 1989 whilst living in the French Alpine town of Chamonix, I discovered the relatively new sport of paragliding. I soon discovered there was a market for my photographs of the sport taken from the air in the Mont Blanc region.
I set up as a commercial photographer when I returned to the UK in 1994, offering imagery to businesses to promote and market their company and products. I also specialise in aerial photography, doing annual site surveys for major companies in landfill, construction and quarrying.
I have also covered much of the UK for the RSPB, photographing their bird reserves from the air.
I have travelled extensively around the world on private projects and for magazine clients. Covering such diverse subjects as - orang-utans on Borneo, tigers in India, and the world's largest food fight in La Tomatina in Spain, to name just three.
My work has been published in over 200 magazines and newspapers worldwide plus numerous books. I married Helen in 2008, and I took up beekeeping in the same year.
