Biography

Biography by Stephen Thomas Erlewine
The cliché about David Bowie says he's a musical chameleon, adapting himself according to fashion and trends. While such a criticism is too glib, there's no denying that Bowie demonstrated remarkable skill for perceiving musical trends at his peak in the '70s. After spending several years in the late '60s as a mod and as an all-around music-hall entertainer,… Read more in Amazon's David Bowie Store

5.0 out of 5 stars A listening adventure., September 6, 2005
This review is from: I'm Afraid of Americans (Audio CD)
Trent Reznor (and, briefly, drum n' bass artist Photek) takes us on a strange journey through diverse soundscapes. One of his best pet-projects, in my opinion! Bowie's lyrics get a remix treatment they deserve!

3.0 out of 5 stars Enjoyable if you remember: this is a remix EP., December 14, 2008

As a fan of both David Bowie and Nine Inch Nails, I had high hopes for Trent Reznor's remix of Bowie's hit from Earthling (or is it the original that is remixed by Reznor...) and I was not disappointed. I'm not a huge fan of Ice Cube's appearance on track 3 (or V3, for version 3), but I enjoy the other tracks.

If you are considering making this purchase, please keep in mind: this is not a full length album, it is a remix EP. In other words, it is the same song played six times with variations thrown in. It should not be a surprise to most, but I think that some people don't pick up on the labelling of the tracks as V1, V2, V3 and so on.
