2011 release, the 12th studio album from the Country star and actor. I'm American. Cyrus' collection of songs dedicated to the spirit of being American, features special guest appearances by Amy Grant and country artists (also veterans) Jamey Johnson, Craig Morgan and Darryl Worley. Inspired by a 2009 USO tour in which Cyrus performed for the soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan, Cyrus has dedicated the album to a new generation of troops, while paying respect to all veterans past and present.

This is a very well-produced album. The arrangements of songs were great. The songs are well written (and sung). I did not listen before purchasing. If you have not listened to the album, I do not want to give away two very nice surprises. The first is a duet with a female singer. The second is the last song "Some Gave All" with the addition of three other singers. You gotta buy it!!!I'm American

Veteran country singer-songwriter/guitarist Billy Ray Cyrus is back with a new CD titled 'I'm American'. It's a celebration/patriotism stance on the face of adversity/terror (supporting the troops) on the 20th anniversary of the hit song "Some Gave It All" which was released on the eve/during Operation Desert Storm in Iraq. This CD (8 tracks) has wonderful music with the patriotism in the face of adversary theme. Stand-outs/solid tracks/gems include "Runaway Ligts" (beautiful country music, vocals & melody. This is the opening track that gives you the overall 'feel/mood' of the album), "Nineteen" (wonderful guitar, duet/harmonies & melody) & a new version of "Some Gave It All". Great tracks include "We Fought Hard" (a slow track with great melody), "Keep The Lights On" (a rocky track with great vocals), "Stripes & Stars" (great guitar, vocals & melody), "I'm American" (bluesy-country sound with great vocals) & "Old Army Hat" (up-tempo track with great banjo sound). There is no weak track/CD filler in this 8 track CD & featured artists are Jamey Johnson, Craig Morgan & Darryl Worley. On overall, Billy Ray Cyrus celebrates well on this 20th anniversary of the hit song "Some Gave It All" & he wishes we all join him in being patriotic against adversity/terror (supporting the troops), a higly recommended CD listening.
