I have read this book in German (and would realy like to find it in English) and can recommendedit to everyone who has interest in the evolution. Evolution not only of human mankind but the entire universe.
Hoimar von Ditfurth has the gift to make even the most complicated details understandable and graspable to the laymen, and brings closer a subject that might otherwise be ebyond reach.
Not only must he have himself a profound understanding, he also has the ability to put it in words instead formulas.
He gives description of multiple theories where there is not one accpeted one, certainly states his own support, but doesn't diminsih the othe side.
He has taken on the task to show that belief in evoluton does not necessarily mean a disbelief in religion.
I have read this book and several other from Ditfurth (Der Geist fiel nicht vom Himmel (mind didn't fall from the sky) and his essays) and hpe to find them in English language to bring him closer to my friends
