Extremely helpful, loaded with great ideas

After reading the reviewer who had returned the book because the Table of Contents only had one chapter on "web technologies," I hesitated to buy this book. But having finished the book, I can say that you should never judge a book by its table of contents!
For the past 25 years, I have heard that replying to ads is the most ineffective way to find a new job. The age of Monster and other job sites has not really changed that axiom. This book highlights the ways that Internet technologies factor into your job search. While there is still a lot of work involved in networking with people who may be able to assist you, it is certainly easier than it was 5 years ago. If you have not done an active job search in the past 5 years, this is a must read.
My recommendation: read it once without stopping to do all the things the author suggests, then go through the entire book again, doing the parts that interest you the most. There are literally hundreds of tips here, but the good news is that you don't have to do them all at once.
