5.0 out of 5 stars ONE OF IZA'S BEST BOOKS--DEFINITELY THE MOST ADVENTUROUS!
I'M A LITTLE TEAPOT is delightful--another winner by the great Iza Trapani!

Here are the adventures that the children (brother and sister) share with the Little Teapot: 1) flying a dragon kite as they row their boat to China; 2) the kids keep score as the little matadour teapot fights the bull in Mexico; 3) the little teapot is a spaceship and takes the kids to...

2.0 out of 5 stars Cute, but not our favorite Trapani book
This could be a really cute book. It has great text/lyrics and we love the teapot's sense of adventure. I'd give the book a five star rating if it weren't for the strange choices of including bullfighting and fox hunting. Surely Trapani could have found adventures for Mexico and England that weren't so animal unfriendly.

5.0 out of 5 stars ONE OF IZA'S BEST BOOKS--DEFINITELY THE MOST ADVENTUROUS!, January 19, 2001
This review is from: I'm a Little Teapot (Paperback)
I'M A LITTLE TEAPOT is delightful--another winner by the great Iza Trapani!

Here are the adventures that the children (brother and sister) share with the Little Teapot: 1) flying a dragon kite as they row their boat to China; 2) the kids keep score as the little matadour teapot fights the bull in Mexico; 3) the little teapot is a spaceship and takes the kids to another planet and they are astronauts and meet an alien "eye to eye"; 4) the little teapot takes them to the opera and she plays in the orchestra while the kids are the opera singers; 5) the kids are pirates and the little teapot is the sailing ship on a windy day; 6) the kids and the little teapot go horsebackriding together all on one horse, with lots of hound dogs on a fox hunt; 7) and the final adventure is a game of hide-and-go-seek in the jungle! 8) The ending with a big tea party is perfect!

What I love best about this book, besides Iza's consistently amazing illustrations, are the adventures! I'M A LITTLE TEAPOT ENCOURAGES YOUR CHILD'S CREATIVITY AND IMAGINATION and even better still, it ENCOURAGES YOUR CHILD to be like the Little Teapot and SHARE/EXPRESS HIS/HER DREAMS! In my opinion, what makes a book great is if it can succeed in teaching a lesson while being fun at the same time! This book does just that! It doesn't get any better than this-- I highly recommend! You will not be disappointed!

SHARE YOUR DREAMS!

5.0 out of 5 stars Enchantea-ing!, July 14, 1999

I received this book as a graduation gift. I am an early childhood educator. This spring I taught a pre-k class, my first class. First we sang and danced to the song and then I read this book. Oh, how my students loved it and couldn't wait to read it again and again. It was an instant favorite. They especially loved the part when they got to find the teapot in the jungle. This is an excellent book for young children.

5.0 out of 5 stars Satisfaction guaranteed, November 21, 2000

This review is from: I'm a Little Teapot (Paperback)
I received this book from my dear sister, who teaches 1st/2nd Grade and always finds the best books. This is my favorite book by Iza Trapani, consisting of a familiar tune with the familiar lyrics and fun twist of new lyrics that the illustrations accentuate. This is one of the few books I can read simultaneously to both of my sons (2 1/2 and 4 1/2) without one getting bored or the other losing interest - and that after almost 2 years!! Satisfaction guaranteed!!

5.0 out of 5 stars This is my favorite Iza Trapani book!, December 13, 2003

I love the wonderful pictures and the rhyme is so much fun! The pages are sturdy and have been in the hands of my toddler countless times. This and Itsy Bitsy Spider are the only books of this kind that my oldest son can hold the tune to throughout all the verses! "I'm A Little Teapot" will always be my favorite but my kids love "The Itsy Bitsy Spider" the best!

In keeping with her fabulous writing style, Iza scores another big success! A bonus are the added extra pages of just illustrations! My child loves "searching" for all the hidden animals in the jungle! 4 stars, two thumbs up, Hip Hip Hooray!

5.0 out of 5 stars Baby's favorite thing!, April 27, 2004
This review is from: I'm a Little Teapot (Board book)
We got a free copy of this book when our daughter was born, and within several months, it was her favorite thing. She loved it to death, so to speak, so we bought her the boardbook version. She's 16 months and version 2 is a casualty of love. I'm about to get yet another copy.

While the lyrics lack a bit if you want to teach your child about traveling or the world, the premise of the story is cute, and my child loves to have this sung to her. It is the first thing she picks up every morning.

If you have the patience to sing the "I'm a Little Teapot" tune over and over and over again, I would highly recommend this book.

4.0 out of 5 stars A new spin on an old song, November 3, 2006
This review is from: I'm a Little Teapot (Paperback)
When my daughter picked this book up at the local library, I wondered if it was just a song book. She was into the whole teapot craze, wanting to have tea parties, singing the tea pot song, etc. What I found when we got it home, however, was a delightful surprise.

The many verses in this song take children through many different cultures on a great exploration. From China to Mexico to outer space! After checking the book out numerous times from the library, I decided to go ahead and buy it. As we'd drive along in the car during the day, I'd hear my two year-old reciting the lines to the book. At night, she would study the book from page to page trying to find the alien, who had surprise appearances throughout the book. When she sat alone, I'd watch her identify boys and girls by the color of their clothes, by the way the wore their hair, by the place she thought they might be from.

This is a very creative book with fantastic illustrations that pull you in with its lyrical flow and excellent rhyme. What a great way to broaden a child's horizons!

5.0 out of 5 stars Fabulous for the imagination and more!!!, May 8, 2006
This review is from: I'm a Little Teapot (Paperback)
Both my daughter (4) and son (2) absolutely love this book. We usually sing it from start to finish and the illustations have little details which you can use as conversation points. My daughter now invents her own adventures for the teapot to add to the numerous ones in the book. The music for this is on the back page which you can either play or sing. Both my children run their fingers over the notes and sing "la la la" as they go. Great for developing an early interest in reading music!

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautifully Illustrated and Fun to Read (or Sing!), January 22, 2006

This review is from: I'm a Little Teapot (Paperback)
We own 4 Iza Trapani books, and this is my favorite (the other books are The Itsy Bitsy Spider, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, and Baa Baa Black Sheep, my other favorite). All of these books are just beautifully done. Ms. Trapani takes favorite nursery rhymes and turns them into entertaining stories that just beg to be sung (she even puts the music on the last page in case you don't know the tune). Her exceptional drawings really add to the fun. My 5-year-old son and 2-year-old daughter absolutely adore these books and they are short enough that I don't mind reading them every night (only Twinkle Twinkle sort of wears me out singing it). I'm a Little Teapot takes readers all over the world on an imaginative adventure, then ends up back at home among family and friends. It's a beautiful, fun-to-sing story.
