Sam Taylor Wood's Boring revision of a punk rock classic,
By stgenerations (Elkton, MD United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: I'm in Love With a German Film Star (Audio CD)
I've listened to this about 100 times now and, while I typically love anything by Pet Shop Boys, I'm not thrilled about this song. It's a bit boring and doesn't change up enough. The original punk rock classic is dissonant, and this remake just doesn't catch your ear for more then a minute. The original hearkens you to listen to it about 100 times to figure out if you like it, and I've had that problem with this version too!
This CD desperately needed a b-side and I would've settled for and enthusiastically embraced her other moniker's song, "Kiki Kova's Love to Love You Baby!" The Remixes are uninspired and phoned-in tripe. At least it's only $7.00 to put another piece in your Pet Shop Boys collection. |
