I bought Charlie Hope's CD after hearing a few songs in a toy store while on vacation in LA. Finding non-annoying kids music for my almost 1 year old daughter has been a challenge. With this CD, I can honestly say that I have found good music that we both really like to listen to. The songs are creative and fun to sing along to without being too cutesy that it's obviously kids music. I - not my daughter although if she could talk I bet she'd be excited about it too - can't wait for the next album.

What a great CD. My class of 5-6-year olds love the catchy songs and relate to Charlie's very personal delivery. You feel she's in the room with you. "I'm me" and "Five Frogs" are at the top of their request list, while parents are asking about "Mr Golden Sun" - they hear it sung so often at home.

Kiwi Magazine Review:
I have secret (well, not anymore) musical crushes on some bands who perform songs for children. Numbered among them are Recess Monkey, Elizabeth Mitchell, Lisa Loeb, Frances England and Milkshake. It is very hard to make my music crush list. Very. But, Charlie Hope, you had me at track one. Charlie is an astounding female vocalist who reminds me of the lead singer of The Sundays or even Frente with a touch of Three Non-Blondes. Even the up-tempo songs showcase her soothing, intoxicating voice. This is one of those CDs that parents will continue to play long after the children have gone to sleep. The original songs are instant classics.

I received this CD as a gift and I am so glad I did! What a fun CD for little children. Charlie has a very warm voice that is enjoyable for both my children and myself. My 2 1/2 year old son was listening to this CD earlier today in the basement with his sister. Tonight he "disappeared" for a few minutes and I wondered where he was. He reappeared shortly with CD in hand. He had gone down into the basement to retrieve the CD which he wanted me to play for him while he got ready for bed. Nothing better than a good blankie, a teddy bear and Charlie Hope!

First of all thanks to Cool Mom Picks for the free cd!!
It seems like so many kids cds are full of annoying, repetitive songs that get on your nerves all too quickly. This cd seems to have the right balance of fun quirky songs to get the kids attention (and hopefully keep it), but the songs seem to have a bit of a smoother, polished sound so that as an adult I rather enjoyed listening to the cd myself. Some of the songs were fun and silly, a few were a bit more serious and touched on some interesting topics (mom is having a baby). Some of them aren't even songs but just short, cute little rhymes. My daughter instantly recognized the Mr. Sun song from Barney's tv show and dvds. Several of them reminded me VERY much of Laurie Berkner - her singing and music style are very reminiscent here, if you like her stuff than you'll like this.

What a fantastic way to start the day, a gift of a CD in my box, song to play for my pre-Kinders.
Happy songs sung by a beautiful voice. I popped it in my player and right now a lovely melody fills our morning. They seem pleased as punch. You know about music I'm sure, how studies are teaching us that it does things remarkable in learning. For YEARS I noticed that if I taught young children coming from 2nd language backgrounds with music-all things were different, concepts, vocabulary, meanings all became possible. This CD has a lovely selection of cheering songs easily translatable into movements, signing and lots of fun singing. It takes me awhile to fully put a CD into use but this gift will go into action as my 1st grade year starts for triple sure. The frog Song I'll use in Friday food day to introduce some new tastes and treats, maybe it's time to try chocolate frogs, they have these cute ones via H. Potter. I'll like edamame, steamed carrots! The spring song fits a need I really have. But one of the ones I really like is Two Little Black Birds....We can line up in two lines and fly away, fly away. Good work and many thanks for thinking of us.

Great music to sing along with!,

After listening to children's music for the last 10 years, most of it gets a bit stale to say the least. I end up wanting to hide most CD's after the first 30 times I listen to them. But, not this one! We've heard it MANY times now, and I am still enjoying it and singing along. And my youngest knows all the words and sings with me. Thanks for this refreshing collection!

This is the first CD I've bought for my kids that I've found myself singing to and wanting to listen to over and over. I am noise-sensitive so that says a lot! The CD has a beautiful ethereal quality that separates it from other "kids" music. The writing, phrasing, and tone of Charlie Hope's voice are all amazing. P.S. My kids love it too...

songs that are fun to dance to with your kids,

I had my niece and nephew over on the weekend and we had so much fun dancing and singing to these songs. I was amazed that they picked up on the actions to the train song so quickly, -they loved pretending to be a train. I haven't liked a kid's cd so much since Anne Murray's "There's a Hippo in my Bathtub" (great album by the way). Usually I get really annoyed by the kid's music, but not this CD. Charlie Hope's voice is upbeat but soothing. Highly recommend it for anyone!
