I want to start out by saying that I am a musician by trade but a fan for life. I came across the first album released by PS (Something Strong) a year or two back. I loved it. So, when I saw this one I decided to buy it without even listening to the snippets that Amazon offered.
And...ah...it's okay. The first album had more of a foot tapping, dance hall, country twang to it that has been missing from the radios for a while...too long. It came as a welcome change to the crap that I have to play every night and masquerade as country music. The second album, however, had more of that pop feel to it while still trying to keep faithful to the country roots. While I did enjoy a couple tracks, only one of them do I listen to on a regular basis. It's the hidden track "Jose!" It's witty and fun to listen to. It makes me smile every time. It was one that I have been trying to get the guys to play for a while now...but they say it's "too country." The long/short of it is this: if you liked the first one for what it was - good country music and nothing else - then you will be slightly let down by this one. However, if you like that stuff called music that straddles the line but leans more to the country side, you will like it. Either way, I recommend it.

This isn't just good Country music, it's damn good Country music. I was surprised how good this was. Pete rocks it with steel guitars and fiddles. "My Kinda Country" and "Alcohol Abuse" should be anthems and get a lot more airtime on Country radio.

I picked this up on a whim because I thought the cover was hilarious. Little did I know that the music contained is great. Country music like it is supposed to be done; raucous, loud, and funny. Reminds me of some 70's stuff, sort of like a cross between Chuck Wagon and Charlie Daniels. Good stuff.
