5.0 out of 5 stars Definately a Winner!, November 23, 2003

This CD is more like the Hank Jr. that we used to hear about when he won the awards and did his good ol home country rockabilly. This is much better than his last 2 or 3 CD's and is a definate asset to the Hank Jr. Collection. If you liked his music from the 80's and Early 90's, I recommend this one for sure.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hank is Back and in Your Face!, November 22, 2003

I heard "I'm one of You" at a concert this year at the IL State Fair and absolutely loved it so I waited for this album. After listeneing early on to the album, I started realizing that Bocephus was back at it again with his gritty hard-nosed style. Haven't really seen that in a while except for an occasional song or two but this album is packed full.

The remake of Jerry Reed's "Amos Moses" was done well. Hank didn't butcher it at all. "I'm one of You" is totally an anthem based song and I think Hank is trying to tell people he's gettin pissed off at what's going on in the world today (I agree!). The best song though on the whole album has got to be "Waylon's Guitar". It was a tribute to the late-great legend and Hank put his heart and soul into it.

It's hard hitting, tongue in check (as usual) and rockin' your country boots off. There's no way to not get excited when listening to this. If you're a Hank, Bocephus, Rockin' Randal fan then this will not let you down on bit. Heck, it may even get you fired up!

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best, November 18, 2003
This review is from: I'm One of You (Audio CD)
This album is without a doubt a true "Hank" album in every since of the meaning. The entire album is great from the begining to the end. My personel favorite is "Liquor to like her," a true Hank song that can be added to the list of hits.
Highly recommended. True Hank fans will LOVE it.

Although there were a few good ones on Almeria Club (his last release) If you liked Hank back in his hay day, this will bring back some memories especially with Waylon's Guitar, which is more his style.............

5.0 out of 5 stars Hank's Rockin' the Cd, May 31, 2004

Hank returns with another guitar driven cd. It is slam the pedal down and here it is. It is great from the first track to the end. I would suggest this CD to all my country friends and my friends that like good rockin' songs. The first track just jumps you right in and starts burning the rubber. I really like this CD. I can actually say I was bored with music until I got this CD. So, fifteen or twenty bucks is worth every penny. Thank you Hank for another CD to fill my collection.

He can cover songs or write them. The title track and his tribute to Waylon make this worth the money. The rest is just gravy. Maybe there's a little corn in the gravy, but it's the best in a long time!

5.0 out of 5 stars I'm One Of You, January 12, 2004

Hank JR sounds better than ever on this CD and so does the band, they definitely put a lot of effort in it. This CD has some of the strongest stuff I've heard in a long while but unlike some of his recent albums that also have a lot of endeavor, this CD finally has the songwriting worthy of Hank's (underappreciated) talent. All of Hank's CDs have brought so much gratification to my life, this one though I had to make public because I recommend it so highly. I have to admit I was really taken by surprise how great this CD is when I first heard it. I just hope I have the opportunity to see Hank Jr in concert before he retires.

If this isn't the best Hank Jr album ever it's in the top 3! A must for any country fan! "Devil In The Bottle" is the most moving song I have EVER heard! And how great was it to hear this version of "Jambalaya"?!?!?! Hank out did himself with this one! I don't buy CD's anymore but I bought this one...IT WAS THAT DAMN GOOD!

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Work In Years !, November 19, 2003
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: I'm One of You (Audio CD)
This new CD is excellent in every way. Some songs are covers, including one he himself covered years ago (Devil In The Bottle)
which is actually better than his own previous version. I admit to being a fan, but I still know good music when I hear it. Hank's maturity has made his music and stylings more soulful. "Liquor to Like Her" is funny and kick a__. "Waylon's Guitar" is great as well. On the song "Games People Play", if you read the liner notes you will see in the list of members of the "Choir" the name "Hilary Williams". I suspect that this is Hank's daughter. I highly recommend this CD to anyone that likes Country Music. And especially if you are tired of all of the "Boy Bands" and wanna be's. This CD and Artist are the "Real Deal".
