The gal who sings in the movie isn't the one who sings on the soundtrack. Seems like in this great digital age in which we live they could get all the songs and various versions on the sound track. I haven't been so up-set since they didn't use the original Maverick theme song in the remake of the movie.

Like me, most people who loved the movie probably wanted to immediately download or buy Schuyler Fisk's rendition of "From Where I'm Standing"...the song that stole the show. Unfortunately and unbelievably, it's nowhere to be found on this CD. In fact I haven't been able to find it anywhere, but I'm definitely not buying the movie soundtrack when they obviously got the royalty situation totally screwed up. If they re-release it with her on it, I'll give them my $$$, but until then I'll look elsewhere.

Creating a quality movie soundtrack is a difficult business. Notice I used the word "quality" here. It's easier to take cuts that have already become popular, insert them in the right places in the movie and then tie them together on a CD. The hard work occurs when those in charge of the movie music pull together great songs from artists who are not household names and those songs, both within the context of the movie and on a soundtrack CD, stand tall.

That is exactly what has been accomplished in the "I'm Reed Fish" soundtrack. Each of these songs had me searching for studio CDs by the artists. (And, when I found them, I was delighted to find that the songs on the soundtrack were representative of other great cuts these artists have produced. Whether it's the four songs by Rich Price, each of the single offerings by The Tyde, Speedsters And Dopers or Miss TK And The Revenge, or the other great inclusions on this CD, all of the music is quality. It's unfortunate that the two beautiful songs from the movie by Schuyler Fisk are not on the soundtrack but if you take the effort to hunt it down, you can find at least one of the two movie offerings ("From Where I'm Standing" on her solo CD, "The Good Stuff."

This is one of the best CD soundtracks to be released in the last ten years. Buy it and enjoy!

This is a great soundtrack, despite the fact that Schuyler Fisks's songs were not on it. Some of them had been available on her self-released EP, Songs For Now. BUT her full length album is finally out and available on itunes, and it includes From Where I'm Standing. I recommend the whole album. Get her album AND this soundtrack for some good all around listening, you won't regret it.

At [...] you can hear "From Where I'm Standing", as well as videos on You Tube. It appears that this plot-pivotal piece of brilliant songwriting was indeed exempted from the soundtrack in question. But those in search of Fisk's possibly semenal breakout melody for this quirky, if not touching, film might not have to wait long. With airtime on the radio in her local market and her exemplary acting abilities arriving on the scene, it is sure to emerge to CD status. Keep digging fans! She has a voice that needs to be heard.

I think this movie was so funny and i love the music, i really love the song "from where i'm standing". i really love this song and i could relate to it, and for one of the comments i read above that the girl wanted the song "from where i'm standing" on limewire type the song and the girls name schuyler fisk and give it time and it comes up
