Book Description

September 1, 2010
Is it possible to be grounded AND have a rich interior life? Is it possible to get through the day with poise when everything hits the fan? Is it possible to have a spiritual life and not be a wing-nut? For Jen Weigel, the answer to all three questions is a resounding YES.

This is an honest, amusing teaching memoir rooted in Weigel's everyday experience as a mother, television personality, and performance artist. Weigel provides 13 common-sense rules for developing a sane and satisfying interior life--ranging from "trust that you are where you are supposed to be in every moment" to "always look for signs,"--to "don't get lost in a guru." What makes this book so fun and refreshing is Weigel's voice--and the fact that, in the words of one of her friends, she is a "magnet for really bizarre shit."

Whether she is playing chicken with deranged Chicago drivers with "Jesus Saves" bumper stickers, trying to keep those extra pounds off, interviewing celebrities on television, or encountering the spirit of her dead father (who keeps appearing in the guise of a cardinal--a bird, not a prelate), Weigel maintains a zest for learning, living, and loving. Her high-spirited stories illustrate core life principles and convey an immediacy and energy that readers will find delightful.

5.0 out of 5 stars Taking spirituality to a new level November 28, 2010
Format:Paperback
I really enjoy Jennifer's writing style. She brings her great sense of humor while talking about mysterious topics like spirituality, death of loved ones and religion. Do people really have an aura about them that is visible by certain people? Can we (or can some of us) communicate with the dead? Did you know that you had angels that are just waiting to assist you with your life? Is it possible that people of all faiths may have lived several lives prior to this one? If you're interested in exploring topics like these through the eyes of a funny and smart religious skeptic, you'll really enjoy "I'm Spiritual, dammit!"

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved it! November 26, 2010
Format:Paperback
This book was lent to me and now I am going to be purchasing as a gift for my mom. This book reminded me to not try to control so many parts of my life and to listen to what I should be seeing and hearing. It is a great reminder that our loved ones are with us even after the pass away. And I have to say I am jealous of some of the 'gifts' some of the people in this book posses.

5.0 out of 5 stars Thoroughly Enjoyed this Read November 7, 2010
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
Definitely read this book! It made me think about my own spirituality which I too often neglect in the busyness of life. Her book greatly encouraged me to look for signs, listen for voices and be unafraid of possibilities despite how confusing the ups and downs of life can be. Every good thing and bad thing that happens has a rhyme and reason that makes us all a part of a greater existence.

Thanks so much to Jenniffer for her honesty, humor and faith! Do get this book!
