I for one think it is her best one yet.

Mindy is such an amazingly natural talent that it makes you wish that she had not taken such a long hiatus from music - she is truly gifted.

Most of the reviews seem to be in favor of this album. I for one think it is her best one yet. I think some of the veiwers may be inserting their feelings in there, regarding her personal life history. Anyway, I will continue to be a loyal fan. So keep the music coming Mindy!

This is a beautiful album! Mindy McCready makes a bold statement with her first new album in over eight years, as she invites the listener in on her journey towards healing herself and finding her way in life. This truly introspecive album has a combination of raw emotion and power that could only be possible with an artist that has truly lived what she sings about. Mindy is such an amazingly natural talent that it makes you wish that she had not taken such a long hiatus from music - she is truly gifted.

This album contains songs for everyone, from those who love the amazing ballads to those who crave the uptempo beats of "I Want A Man". For those looking for a song that will surly put you in the mood for romance, "I Want To Love You" should be at the top of the list for such occasions. Overall, this album flows well in a woderfully produced masterpiece that includes newly reporduced versions of her old hits: "Guys Do It All The Time" and "Ten Thousand Angels". I believe that this is Mindy's best work to date, with hopefully more to come in the coming years.

What a voice Ms. McCready has, even after all this time and troubles. I swear, until now, I haven't heard an angel sing and cry like a mellow river rolling by, high in the canyons crashing down to the rocks below and flowing flowing flowing through the valleys and ridgepoles of our minds. Listening to this CD in total is like climbing into the Grand Canyon without a map but finding our way back. Mindy knows of which she speaks and she sings it to the world. Fantastic. So happy I can download this on Amazon. Welcome back, my dear! So glad you are still with us, and looking forward to more!

PS: My personal favorites (one star for each!) plus one star for still being here, and what a voice!

UPDATE: Ms. McCready died in Feb 2013, from an apparent suicide with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head, a month after her life-partner apparently committed suicide the same way. It's been a horrible time for everyone, and the investigations are still open. I am so sorry that she didn't make it, when it looked like she had made a turn-around. Such a waste of such a wonderful voice and spirit. So sad. She is survived by her two young children.

After finding quick fame with her 1996 debut Ten Thousand Angels, McCready embarked on a career that declined and then disassembled. Her follow-up, If I Don't Stay the Night, managed gold sales, but 1999's I'm Not So Tough had little success and she was dropped by her label. A self-titled album in 2002 scratched the bottom of the charts with the single "Maybe, Maybe Not," and McCready soon became more infamous than famous. A well publicized arrest of her ex-boyfriend for attempted murder, suicide attempts, drug addition and multiple entanglements with the law replaced studio sessions, hit singles, live concerts and awards shows.

Of course, a troubled life doesn't have to run a country music career aground. Personal demons can just as easily provide grist for an artist's mill, and as McCready shows here, she's willing to invest some personal travails into her music. The album's title track and lead single, written by McCready in jail, is a moving confession of survivorship with a lyric of emotional clarity that's a foundation for long term physical sobriety. McCready's other two co-writes, the twangy "I Want a Man" and the ballad "The Way You Make Me Melt" resound with the appetite of someone who's recently rejoined the living. It's a wonder her voice - emotional and physical - is in such good shape after what she's put herself through.

Not being a country music fan, I could only remember her by name. To refresh my memory, I went to her music. I remembered hearing about his album on the news and listened to the samples. Awesome. Her voice is strong and powerful. I've listened to it over and over.

I am sorry that I never thought to buy this until after Mindy's tragic suicide. My favorite songs from it are I'm Still Here (you can hear her suffering and pain but its beautiful) and her version of Garth Brooks "The Dance" which I can honestly say is the best version I have ever heard. The other songs are good too- and I think it was cool that the last 2 songs on the CD are her two original hits 10,000 Angels and Guys Do it All the Time redone at the time of the recording and just as good as it was when she came out.
This CD is not the "pop" country but more traditional so if you are more of a Taylor Swift/Shania fan this may not be for you but everyone should take a listen to a few tracks to see!!
Mindy your fans love you and will miss you and our comfort is knowing your are now safe in the arms of the Lord.
