Terrific!, May 24, 1999
This review is from: I'm a Stranger Too / Don't Drag It on (Audio CD)
After trying to replace my vinyl copy of "Don't it Drag On" (Stolen in NYC in 1973)for more than 20 years I was delighted to find this re-release. Getting "I'm a Stranger Too" was a real bonus. Unfortunately you can't sample some of the better tracks on the album on Amazon's site - "Down in the Flood" is probably the best version that you'll ever hear and "Friend of the Devil" is particularly fine. This is an album that definately won't disappoint.

Interesting to hear Chris with a younger country voice., April 16, 1999

There is a subtle charm to these older recordings. His voice is less refined, less full, but his delivery is just as sincere. While I do prefer his later work, these tracks are worthy in their own right. Most of these tracks are performed in Chris's later albums, but there are a few great tunes that you won't hear anywhere else. He does a great cover of Neil Young's "I am a Child".
