5.0 out of 5 stars Tried to be chill but you're so hot that I melted
A fantastic first single to Jason Mraz's latest album, We Sing, We Dance, We Steal Things. It's a nice balance between a nice beach summer song and the creative tunes we're heard from Mraz on his past two albums. I agree with one of the other reviewers that this song is a bit Jimmy Buffet-ish, but I think this is more indicative of Mraz tipping his hat to Buffet rather...

1.0 out of 5 stars Original sin
This track is nothing more than an attempt to emulate the likes of Jimmy Buffet. This artist, and or record execs., want this to be cool. It isn't. This track isn't entertaining. The lyrics are horrid. The man's vocals are irritating and often harsh and loud. This track is shrill. It is not pleasant, at all. I suppose a couple of college people who think...

A fantastic first single to Jason Mraz's latest album, We Sing, We Dance, We Steal Things. It's a nice balance between a nice beach summer song and the creative tunes we're heard from Mraz on his past two albums. I agree with one of the other reviewers that this song is a bit Jimmy Buffet-ish, but I think this is more indicative of Mraz tipping his hat to Buffet rather than being a copy-cat of Buffet's work. Mraz certainly has his own creative identity, and this new album as a whole reflects his evolution as a singer-songwriter.

The lyric in the song where the it says "and my breath fogged up the glass so I drew a new face and I laughed" it just makes me feel better and reminds me not to take life so serious. I love love the tune.

Heard many times be4 and heard it one SPECIAL time in Hawaii with new friend. Hope to make new friend more than just friend. Will treasure this song as 'our' song, when we first meet in Waikiki. Aloha!

5.0 out of 5 stars Funky yet sweet, harmonious song - live from NY! (SNL), April 2, 2009

This review is from: I'm Yours (MP3 Download)
This is one of 2 songs performed live on Saturday Night Live television recently. This was the first and immediately launches into the rhythm and rhyme with an infectious, almost Hawai'an-style LOVE song. Upbeat and sweet. With scat, too. Good clean fun and all good.

The other song performed on SNL (and also on this album) is Lucky, which featured a wonderful duet with Jason Mraz and Colbie Cailet, a sweet, melodious song which can bring goosebumps as the two trade lines of love in sweet harmony, while a rhythmic, "beachy" guitar thing going on offers punchy counterpoint to the vocal performance -- reminiscent of Pink Floyd's "San Tropez". I bought both of the SNL tunes and was really pleased to hear that the album performance was as amazing and fresh as the live performance. Or vice versa.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is a wonderful song, March 21, 2009

"I'm Yours" is an honest simple song about finally realizing what love is all about. It's not complicated, quirky, or different, but it does a great job of very simply putting human emotions into musical form. It's light and reminds me of a relaxing day at the beach, and the lyrics are well thought out and not cheesy. This isn't another sappy love song, but it's as romantic and well-intentioned as a sappy love song.

5.0 out of 5 stars Jason Mraz is amazing and flying under the radar..., August 30, 2008
This review is from: I'm Yours (MP3 Download)
Often imitated, but never duplicated! This is an infectious groove. It is also a challenge to learn the words... are you up for the challenge!? Jason is touring at the moment, so now is your chance to see him live, which is an even MORE amazing experience than listening to his music online, on your mp3 player or on CD.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is great music!, January 29, 2009

Some people are making a big intellectual thing about reviewing music. Screw the critics. I forgot how much I love to listen to music and how good it could make me feel. This is great stuff and it makes me feel great!

4.0 out of 5 stars Valentines Day is coming up! This song is perfect., December 19, 2008
This review is from: I'm Yours (MP3 Download)
Few songs hold the romantic, vulnerable, and sincere together as well as "I'm Yours". Maybe "Naked" by Patience Gloria or "Lay Lady Lay" by Dylan, but still "I'm Yours" should not be underestimated for it's simple, powerful message of love.

5.0 out of 5 stars stuck in my head and loving it, November 4, 2008
This review is from: I'm Yours (MP3 Download)
I`m not sure why some people are being so critical of Jason Mraz, but I fell in love with I`m Yours the first time I heard it (on Turkish TV, of all places). The rhythm is contagious and makes me feel great. I listen to it constantly. As a musician, I have great respect for his instrumental techniques, and the lyrics are witty--not cliche. I think the man`s got talent! I`d love to see him and his group in concert. I expect he`ll be known world-wide...well...now.
