Image consulting is considered one of the best home-based businesses for the 21st century, especially for women. Now the first book about the image consulting industry, entitled Image Consulting for the 21st Century, has just been published by the Academy of Fashion & Image (AFI).
Author Brenda York-McDaniel drew on her 25 years in the profession to describe what the idustry is like, what opportunities it offers for the future, and what it takes to succeed in the business. The book will particularly benefit those who are considering careers as part time or full time image consultants. In addition, it advises new consultants on how to get started and provide experienced consultants with ideas to enrich and expand their practices.
What do image consultants do? According to York-McDaniel,"They advise and coach people on their apprarance and presentation skills--from what they wear, to how they talk and carry their bodies,to the etiquette they use in business and social situations." Who are good candidates for the profession?
