A solid no-frills treadmill,
By
This review is from: Image 15.0 R Treadmill (Sports)
I have had this treadmill for about 6 months now, and I have really enjoyed it. It is very compact (it fits nicely beside my bed in my one bedroom apartment in New York City), but is still very sturdy, and the track is a good size to run on. There aren't any frills that the larger treadmills have (for instance there are only thee little LCD screens that give you the time, distance, numbers of steps, and calories), but in my opinion, the important part of a treadmill is whether or not you can have a good workout on it, and I can safely say this this one meets my standard. My only gripe is that the heart rate monitor that comes with it is not always accurate.

Nice system but will it last,

I bought this item from WalMart Aug 2006 and it is not working well now.
I was very happy with it and used it almost every day for 2-3 miles. If it is only going to last 6 months then i need to think if i want to buy from them again. I sent a message on their web site but no response how to tighten belt up. The 90 day warranty 'is' an indication of how long you can expect it to last! Otherwise it has good options and fan, but wish it wouldn't drop the data when the safety ribbon lodges loose. I think I paid about $360 so is a $60 per month workout item. I may upgrade and pay more for a unit with better warranty and a year or more protection. I do not shop at Walmart anymore so will most likely buy online from another manufacturer. I will check their sight Image and make sure I do not buy under another name they sell under.

Great Unit!,

I bought this unit 3 years ago and have had a great experience for the money. You have to read the instructions. Note that the main reason people think these machines are broke is because they dont know how to adjust the belt inside the motor casing. It needs to be done when the belt slips which happens on all treadmills. There is also a weight limit so make sure you dont use it if you are over it. Most people only rate things when they are mad about breaking the item and the company wont replace it. I am taking the time to tell you I love mine.

Great treadmill, great deal for the price. It folds up nice against the wall and out of the way. It is smooth, quiet and inclines perfectly. I have had it for 2 years and use it all the time.
I have never had a problem with it. I give it an excellent rating.

I purchased this from everyones favorite "little store" slayer for about $450. I have had it for about 4 years now and it finally has run its course. It came with a 90 warranty and a 3 year on the motor. I used this from day one for about 3 years running upwards of 10 miles at a time while training for a half marathon and then just to keep in shape. It has all the basic features any other treadmill has and it spins, nothing new. Now to what people actually want to know, longevity, problems and aesthetics. The bars holding the console are 90* which allows the treadmill to stand fully erect which is great for stowing away, I have another that is like 70* and i'm afraid my kids will knock their heads on it as its a horrible design. The cup holder size is great for people with larger cups like a camelbak. Physically right away though i had problems with it. First i noticed the tread surface would have slight problems staying straight. It would slowly slide to a side till it hit it and then rubbed and heated up making the surface smell like melting rubber. Took alot of adjusting to make it straight and it never really did stay straight well. Sometimes i would go months without adjusting it, sometimes days. Besides that, for 3 years i loved it. After 3 years it started to fail. When it starts up, it goes through a self checking phase as most treadmills do. During it, it goes from lowest to highest incline and back down. The incline is a motor with a gear that rests in a bar with teeth that the gear can raise up on. Well one day when the gear hit the top, it decided to keep going which ruined the gear and rod of the motor and wedging the bar. I removed them both and the treadmill actually worked just fine, just with no incline ability. Next the belt started to stretch making the distance unreliable because i would have to move the motor farther back making the belt tight enough to spin the treadmill which throws off the readings. A new belt is only $20 and every treadmill has this problem eventually. After about 8 more months the motor started to smell and cease up. Now if i run on it, it smokes and becomes untouchably hot. Unfortunantly it came with only a 3 year motor warranty so its now a dud. If it was still under warranty i would have been just happy to just replace the motor and kept it because it worked fine for the most part. Overall it was ok but it doesn't last and i couldn't recommend it to anyone.

Good basic machine,

I bought one of these about a year ago and it's been a well behaved piece of equipment. If what you are about is getting a moderately good workout on a daily basis this is a machine that will give you that. I wouldn't try a daily 5+ miles run on it, it's not built t handle that sort of bone pounding hardcore excerise over the long haul and it probaly won't last 6 months as some of the other reveiwers found. But for someone who wants to get in a 20 to 30 minute cario doing walking or some easy jogging as part of a healthy lifestyle it's a good unit for the price.
It does need some adjustment and care on a regular basis, about once a month or so, but that is normal for any mechanical device with moving parts. Nor is it hard to tweak when necessary. If you can tune up a lawnmower or fix routine stuff around your home you shouldn't have any trouble with it. And a little teflon spray on the deck every couple weeks keeps the belt running smooth and easy. So if you are looking for a unit that will help you keep from being the financing of your doctor's next Mercedes, this is a good machine to use. But... If your the kind of person that thinks of a 10K run as "light workout" then skip this one and spend the extra money on one of the higher end machines.
