Image Line FL Studio 10 Fruity Edition
FL Studio is a full-featured, open-architecture, music-production environment. FL Studio is designed for creative freedom.
FL Studio Fruity Edition frees your creative mind. You can choose your preferred workflow; compose using the step-sequencer or piano roll. Create in pattern or track mode, then arrange your ideas in the Playlist. The Playlist presents timeline as a virtual canvas where each Playlist track can hold score or automation events.
FL Studio Fruity Edition is aimed at composers who need Piano roll for complex melodies and to record/play chords. Fruity Edition adds access to the lower, Pattern Clips, area of the Playlist for complex and lengthy arranging/sequencing. It is also great for percussion programming, simple melodies, bass-lines, riffs, etc. You can record and play a single pattern, of up to 64 steps. Each pattern can be comprised of an unlimited number of instruments (samples, native and VST instruments). The instruments in the pattern can be routed to the mixer for effects processing on a per-instrument or grouped basis.
What you can do with Fruity Edition
Fruity Edition includes three very important features. 1. The Piano roll. 2. Event Automation. 3. The Playlist.
This means Fruity Edition unlocks the full melodic and instrumental performance capabilities.
Piano roll enables unlimited length patterns and the ability to record/play chords for each instrument Channel, for unlimited length patterns and chords.
Event Automation allows the control of almost any FL Studio parameter or plugin knob using the Event Editor, Record, or "draw" automation. This automation data is saved in Pattern Clips.
Playlist Pattern Clip arranging so an unlimited number of Pattern Clips can be stacked and or placed end-to-end in series in the Playlist to create complete musical works of unlimited complexity. Pattern clips can hold note (Piano roll / Stepsequencer) and Automation (Event Automation) data.
Client VST/Rewire support so you can use FL Studio as an instrument in VST/Rewire compatible.

Warning ... addictive software,

This is a great program. I was very excited to get it. When it came, I locked myself in my home office with some headphones and lost all track of time. I was up until the middle of the night creating beats and building a new song.
I found the interface pretty easy and the manual is great if you have a question. The multitude of file formats it supports and is able to create is outstanding, and the interpolation system is practically flawless. The built-in sounds and effects are really good. I, personally, love FL Studio, and I recommend it to anyone who's a new producer or interested in music production.

This is the first music production software I have ever used so I have little ground for comparison, however that being said I LOVE this program. For conveince sake I will list all of the things I like about it below
-It's easy to learn (Years to master) -Aesthetically pleasing -Great bunch of plugins -Gives you back exactly what you put into it I put a modest amount of effort into learning this program and I have produced a few songs that are nerve racking at best. HOWEVER, if I took the time and dedicated myself to truly learning this program I know beyond a doubt I could make pleasing music within the year. All in all a great program, I give it my highest recommendation
