1.0 out of 5 stars save your money. buy the revised edition., December 7, 2011
This review is from: The Image of the Non-Jew in Judaism: An Historical and Constructive Study of the Noahide Laws (Toronto Studies in Theology) (Hardcover)
There is no way to open this book without feeling a surge of anger. For $129 I expected 481 pages of Oxford-dictionary-like micro printing, exploring the topic in laborious detail. But it is set in Courier, with generous margins and doublespaced verbose end notes. If it were set in a proportional font I think it would comfortably fit in 200 pages less, but who would pay $129 for a book with just 250 pages? One could argue that the scholarship justifies the cost, but I think there are other books out there with comparable scolarship at a price that allows the reader to enjoy the book without being offended with each page turned. If you need the information (there are parts of the book that are good) go with the 2nd edition that came out Aug 2011. I haven't seen it (why would I spend even more?!) but at an 80% savings it certainly has to be the better option.

I think the title expresses my opinion. Get it from the library.
