The production,... well I can't flaw it.

There are lots of worship albums out there now and it's a great trend, but this one is one that you need to buy! ....

She's got an incredible voice, and beautiful, reflective music.

Matt Brouwer is a young guy fresh out of college and this album came out of "mnw" (Monday Night Worship) at Prairie Bible College in Three Hills, Alberta Canada. .... Matt's style is unique and FRESH! It's worship music - and the style ranges from lively, having-fun-praising-God music with some very interesting sound effects (computer-produced, probably?!) to some slower, very moving ballad-type worship songs that will bring you closer to the Lord the first time you hear them! Matt is a talented songwriter as well - he wrote or co-wrote all the songs on this album. As for which ones are my favorites - gee, that's a hard question! Here are a few lines from a couple of songs:
...The first track on the album is "New Beginning". After some rather interesting sound effects, this song gets going and it's one that I guarantee will be playing in your head as you go about your daily life! ....
Yes, Matt Brouwer's album IS a new beginning for worship music! There are lots of worship albums out there now and it's a great trend, but this one is one that you need to buy! ....

I had never really heard a lot about Matt Brouwer before I heard "Water" and "Sanity" play on our local Christian radio station. I had walked passed his CD a few times and stopped... and looked... but never considered buying it. After hearing those singles I decided to have a listen.
Songs such as "A New Song" and "New Beginning" caught on straight away and I got the CD. And now? It's still my favourite! Tracks like "Lead" and "I Wanna See You" and others have a very special quality that can only be described as... Imagerical! There's a really wonderful blend of imagery, praise and worship in the lyrics of the songs that I am surprised more singles have not been released yet.
The production,... well I can't flaw it. It is a really good blend of music, from the peppy "A New Song" and "Water" and "New Beginning" to the more worshipful tracks like "Lead". There's guitars, bass, electronic effects and great vocals. Even the CD cover slip is really well produced!
If you have heard songs like "Water" and "A New Song" on the radio then I strongly encourage you to have a listen to this CD in your Christian retail store.

If there is a song describing my state of being right now(besides somebody to love by Queen, but that doesn't include Jesus in the picture so its incomplete) its Imagerical. I love everything on here and can definetely feel the "Youth Group" or college worship roots. My only problem is that while it is a different kind of music, sometimes the effects and sounds seem like disguised pop. Not that I mind, I love the lyrics, keyboard effects, and background vocals.
So overall it is very nice.
And his singing style? Unusual sure but hasn't anyone heard the lead singer of Jars of Clay sing? They sure sound similar sometimes...
BUt all these criticisms are largely cosmetic and have more to do with the way the album was promoted.
Its heart is in the right place.
Check this out, buy it, love it.
And use it to lift your heart towards God and worship with joy.

As a former Christian Radio DJ, I've played Matt's hit single " A New Song " on Fort Smith's best christian radio station, KZKZ Spirit FM 106.3. It's one of my son, Joshua's favorite songs, he said daddy, I really like that song sing A New Song, can you get it for me, of course being the father I am, I said yes. I can see why the album title is, Imagerical, cause one can only imagine the heights which can soar too as they listen to Matt Brouwer...
