You've got to be kidding.,
By NR Deroche (New England) - See all my reviews

While the designs in this book provide for unlimited color and pattern combinations, many of the pages have spaces that are so tiny you'd have to use something as thin as a needle to stay inside the lines. A pencil or colored pencil sharpened lethally, barely. Markers or crayons, forget it! You've heard of large print editions? This one's microscopic.

Not so bad if you know what to use with it...,

If you use gel pens, the fine points....you will have no trouble at all with these patterns. They are absoulutely wonderful patterns. Yes, they are tiny lines, only for an adult, but like I said use the fine point gel pens and you will not have any trouble. Not to mention the gel pens rarely go through the paper. Enjoy!

I purchased the set of these books from Images One to Images 5 they have some wonderful designs to color and depending on how you look at it it may ook totally different the second time. The only drawback is that the patterns repeat after 10-12 pages so that you have 4-5 sets of each print.

My son, who is developmentally disabled, loves all of the Images books. He creates beautiful designs with all different colors of gel pens.

I love to colour but found these designs too small to look at, let alone colour in. You would have to use very sharp pencils or fine markers to enjoy this book. It's been taking up space on my shelf for years and has never been used.

i bought this book early in the year and i found it amazing. truly so many possibilities within one page. the only thing i didnt like in this book was that on a few of the pages, the lines were super-tiny! maybe a gel pen could fit, but my markers, crayons, etc would go out of the lines by making the tiniest mark. overall great book for anyone 12 and up.

I haven't done these designs since I was in fourth grade...it's been wonderful to color again and has been a GREAT way to pass time while spending time with patient in hospital and on airplane.

This was a 2010 Christmas gift for my 9-year old granddaughter, and even though she ALSO received an iPod from her parents (which kept her very, very busy), she also liked--and used--this very advanced type of coloring book, and soon caught on to the idea of all the different patterns that could be produced by coloring different sectors of the designs differently. I think these are excellent alternatives to the usual kind of children's coloring books, and should make them stretch their imaginations quite beyond the bunnies, trees and simply pictorials in most of these books.

This book had such potential! The page are one sided the images themselves are amazing for adults that wants a challenge. So many possibilities on each page. I even liked that the images repeated as it was a chance at a "do-over" on one you really liked but wish you had done different.
Sadly ALL those positives are completely ruined by ONE thing. The paper quality!! It is HORRIBLE! If the paper was any thinner it would be transparent! You can not use even decent quality markers as they will run and bleed because of the paper's thinness. The sad fact is I would have been willing to pay MORE for this book had the paper quality been better! There is also the matter of the binding of this book. The book is on the larger side and chunky so the side binding REALLY gets in the way and many times causes the book to close on you while you are working. Had the pages been perforated or a spiral binding used it would have again made a world of difference. It is such a shame because these and the Dover coloring books have a huge adult audience. So step the quality up! Give us one side printings and heavy duty paper!! Yes it will cost you more as a company but guess what we would PAY more to have great books we can really enjoy with out worrying about ruining the image on the "back" pages and being able to use the medium we want to use! We are past the crayon and even the colored pencil stage. I promise we really can handle working in permanent ink so LET US!

Fabulous for Those Who Want a Challenge,

I have all the Roger Burrows Images coloring books and absolutely love them. Yes, there are some designs which require the use of fine tipped pens/markers but to me this adds to the challenge of the designs. I use all kinds of pens. pencils and markers when coloring the designs. I would highly recommend this entire series to anyone who likes to color but also wants something above and beyond your "average" coloring book.
