This collection of original songs composed and performed by Robert Dillon is simply great. Whether the listener is a student of the guitar or just enjoys guitar music, there should be something to please all on this CD. Weeping Senorita and Bopolauro are more traditional classical guitar performances (expertly performed)while many of the other songs are performed on a steel string using alternative tunings which give delight to the ear. Diamonds in the Sand and Almost There are particularly uplifting and among my favorites. The accompanying guitar book is also well put together. Each song includes performance notes, tunings, tab, and fingering instructions. Guitarist will enjoy exploring and performing Robert's wonderful music.

After I have purchased the CD and popped it in, I was amazed of the tecnhical ability of this guitarist. He executes his fingerwork with precision, very talented guitarist with a good sense of tone. The songs in this album are very beautiful and fit the themes he is writing about. As an guitarist myself, he is performing some very difficult stuff indeed. Dr. Dillon is definitely as good as any other virtuoso of the guitar that I have ever heard! Many others I hear are good, but his music is not only as good technically, but has heart & soul! Dillon is a pioneer and obviously a very creative composer. To sum it up, his music can be explosive like in "Deep Black Lake", close to the heart like in "Loss", and super when he thinks of children like in "Boo Bear's Lullaby". There is no doubt in my mind, that the world needs to hear his music! I look forward to upcoming CDs by this artist!
