This review is from: Images of the Mother of God: Perceptions of the Theotokos in Byzantium (Hardcover)
I used this book as a reference for my graduate research paper on Theotokos. It is excellent for an in-depth look and research because it is a collection of scholarly articles about different emphases on Theotokos. It is primarily text with black and white images supporting the theses, and some small color plates. The book was compiled from a symposium of authorities re: a major exhibition in Athens in 2000 on the Mother of God.
