Must read; also read Kline's book "Kingdom Prologue",

This review is from: Images of the Spirit (Paperback)
If you made it through seminary without reading this book, then you have been cheated. This books should be standard reading for all ministers and serious bible students. If you deal with the text of scripture, you will want to deal with Kline. This book is short and packed. It is simultaneously brilliant and small. Kline is an expert in the ancient Near East, and this allows him to untangle heavenly imagery. This book does not disappoint Do not read it if you are not ready to be floored...

Images of the Spirit,

This review is from: Images of the Spirit (Paperback)
Brillant exegesis of biblical material. Has brought fresh insight into ancient texts. Fine example of creative, biblical study of doctrinal matter. I have referred to it again and again in the course of my study. Wish he had more published materials available to the general public.

Demolishes Scholastic Notion of Rational-Substance,
By Gregory Baus (Toronto, ON, Canada) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Images of the Spirit (Paperback)
This small but tight example of solid biblical exegesis demonstrates that the *imago Dei* does NOT consist in having a soul according to a rational-substance conception. It also demonstrates that the imago Dei is a broader concept that "humanity." It further exemplifies a hermeneutic capable of doing justice to the full scope of biblical revelation.
