It's really pretty annoying. You drop the food in, and it falls right out the slats. It really takes a LOT of work to get the pieces to fall inside well enough to just fall out before your little one can actually start using imagination with it.
The pieces are durable enough. The design is cute. The slats are just annoying at best.
Watch out for the little round bit on the turn knob. Ours came off and would be a choking hazard. A little wood glue fixed it perfectly. You might want to dab a bit of wood glue there just in case.
This little blender is sturdy, colorful and comes with fun extras like the tear-apart fruits & veggie, 2 cups and a spoon. My almost 2-1/2-year-old daughter likes it almost as well as the Imaginarium wooden tea set. The colors are bright w/o being obnoxious. It should match any kitchen set (although it works just as well w/o a play kitchen).
Other than the little sphere on the turn knob, there are no small parts or dangerous edges, which makes this a good choice for 2-yr-olds. Toys for this age group can be hard to find and I think this one allows very imaginative play and is a good value for parents and gift-givers.
