Rules are confusing,

We were excited to get this game for Christmas, but quickly found that the "simple" rules are just too simple to really make complete sense. However, the biggest problem is that the questions are just too easy for adults and yet not necessarily the kind of information that kids would know. For example, a high level question, for $200, is: "Named for igloo-dwelling residents, what greeting is performed by rubbing noses?" (answer: Eskimo kiss). That's about as hard as they get and therefore, no need for the "strike" cards...no one has been tossed out of a cab yet. We will continue to play the game with our kids (ages 8 and 11), but we might need to make up a few rules of our own to make it more of a fun challenge. We're hoping for a DVD version of this game where we can feel like we've just hopped into the real Cash Cab and are actually meeting our favorite game host as he throws questions back over his shoulder while navigating the streets of NYC! Now that would be fun!

I just wanted to post this review simply to let people know that this product was not what I had expected it to be. I love the t.v. show and I thought that the game would be pretty awesome to play. It turned out that the game is actually not like the show...you don't get to choose when to take a shout-out, instead the game is set up to decide for you...and the different difficulty levels of questions on the show are not reflected on the game...instead the game levels are cycled so the competitiveness of the game is taken out in a way... and the point of the game is to reach their destination or $1,000.00 first...when truth is, that's way to easy to get to, making the game rather short, boring, and somewhat pointless to play...I can't even get my friends to play it anymore, they would rather play "Trivial Pursuit"...cause honestly, at least that game is competitive and not exactly boring....unlike "Cash Cab". I would only play that game if I was too drunk to play anything else...sad to say, but true to the core. I still love the show, but the game needs to be upgraded.

This game is horrible. Horrible! Not because the rules are confusing, but because it's a trivia game in which the trivia is either incredibly easy or flat-out wrong. The box says ages 8 and up. Anyone older than 11 will be stumped by precisely no questions, except for the few random ones such as "Name all five lead characters in the show Little Einsteins." Maybe the game is meant for brain-dead parents of toddlers? As for the "wrong," according to this game, Seattle has a professional hockey team called the Seahawks. Friends purchased this game for a party (we're all twenty- and thirty-somethings, sans children). We gave up halfway through the game when we got to the Seahawks question, and opted instead to flip through all the question cards, looking for one that we couldn't collectively answer. Apart from a few questions about children's television characters and the questions that were wrong, we couldn't find anything challenging. So if you're over the age of 11 and still really want to play this game for whatever reason, I would recommend supplementing your purchase with a pack of Trivial Pursuit cards. Or make up some ridiculous rule, like all the answers have to be given in pantomime. Candy Land is more challenging than this game. (Oh yeah, there was a ridiculous question about Candy Land too). This game needs an encylopedia and a fact-checker.

this game seemed very enjoyable from skimming the back of the box, but really, it was not fun at all. at first the instructions are kinda confusing but not alot. also the cards started ripping on the first game! it is also too short, becasue in one roll you could reach your "destination". also the questions are horrific. i am 12 and i played with my older brother and dad, i didnt get a single question wrong. for example "what is usually paired with salt on the dinner table" or "pepporoni is the favorite in america, but squid is japans favorite topping on this italian fast food"... you have to be kidding me! a dumb blonde can answer this!!!! questions are too easy and games are too short. DONT BUY THIS GAME

I bought this game for my husband because he is such a fan of the show. The questions are very easy to answer - much easier than the TV show. My 10 year old nephew was able to answer many of them. It is good for families playing with mixed ages, however. I would not recommend to someone wanting a very challenging trivia game.

I bought this for my parents because they love to watch the Cash Cab program. I was so excited to know there was a board game and thought it was a great gift idea. They were equally excited to receive it on Christmas. However, when we began to play we realized that the questions were way easier than on the show and there was no challenge at all. We played the game for about 30 minutes and not one person missed a question. We got very bored and have not opened the game to play it since. Very dissappointed and felt I had wasted my money.

I couldn't wait to give this as a gift to my brother, because he loves the show. We gathered the family ages 17 to 87 to play Christmas night. After 2 games no one missed a single question. We tried to think of a way to make it harder, but even using the most difficult level it was still no challange. I doubt that we will ever play this game again unless they come out with a booster pack with questions more on a level of the TV show. Needless to say we were all very dissapointed.

Well I just got this game for my husband as a gift (directly from Discovery channel)It was a fun game but my only issue is that the questions were a bit too easy for adults. If they made some questions a bit harder it would be more challenging. But I know they geared the questions so almost anyone can answer them.
