A perfect 10. The most solid of all the Whispers records with only one clear message, you have to buy it!

Solar's prominent five alongside producer extrodinaire Leon Sylvers, III, soars again on yet another smash album. Hit after hit, this album too can be garnered a greatest hits set. Becoming the group's second platinum disc, it includes the zesty Top 10 R&B hit "It's a Love Thing" and the Top 40 R&B dance classic "I Can Make It Better." Aside from the delightful, essential, and romantic ballads, the group successfully put their own twist on the "Soul Train Theme," originally used as the show's opener during the early '80s. Let such a fantasy become real and add this gem to your collection.

This is one fantastic album. If you are a true Whispers fan, this will be in your collection as it is in mine.

This is another stellar performance by that great group known as the Whispers. They just sing great-period.

Imagination turns out to be some of the most energetic and sentimental albums The Whispers had released in their long career. Thanks to the production wonders of Leon Sylvers, Don Cornelius (for jammin'), and the band (for romancin'), Imagination was a great follow up to 1979's self titled lp that contained the #1 hit, "And The Beat Goes On." Now on to the songs, "I Can Make It Better" and "It's A Love Thing" was what rocked the whole lp with the violins, guitar picks, and slick bass lines and smooth lyrics (written by in-house SOLAR extrodinaire, Dana Myers). Those jams well mixed romance with funk. Another familar groovy tune was "Up On Soul Train" (obviously produced by Soul Train host and founder, Don Cornelius) of which served as Soul Train's theme song from 1980 to 1982 (before O'Bryan's "Soul Trains A Comin'" replaced it mid-way in the 12th season). "Continental Shuffle" (written by Lakeside's Mark Wood) was groovy while the sentimental "Say You (Would Love For Me Too)" stood as a great classic Whispers' ballad. Nothing much to say but to enjoy another Whispers classic album. Like their 1979 self titled lp, Imagination was a big enough hit for a SOLAR all star tour (with Lakeside, Shalamar and Dynasty) as well as four promotional videos (two of them were for "It's A Love Thing" and "Say You (Would Love For Me Too)") of which the latter which were new promotional tools for African American musicians.

"It's a Love Thing" and "I Can Make it Better" are enough to buy this album, but all the other tunes are great, too, especially the ballad "Say You (Would Love for Me, Too)."

Anyone familiar with The Whispers know that they are an amazing group, vocals extrodinaire ... add some unreal production and you have many, many classic albums. Thankfully, they're still performing and producing today. Catch a show soon and don't forget to buy the albums!

The Whispers are simply wonderful!!! Walter, Scotty, Nicholas, Leaveil and Marcus were at the top of their game when recording this album. "Girl I Need You" and "Fantasy" are sweet, harmonious love songs. "Say You Would Love For Me Too" is another classic "Whispers-style" love song. They outdid themselves on this track. "It's A Love Thing" and "I Can Make It Better" are snappy dance tunes that keep you out of your seat. The Whispers have proved themselves to be the BEST R&B singing (and dancing) group of all times!!!

You can never get tired of continous listening to this great group, they were one of the wonderful group in the late 80s.and till date their music still rolling on. More blessing to their elbows. ABDUL WASIU, LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA, U.S.A.
