Book Description

In the Club of the Unknown, where the music blares and the faces are hidden behind masks, Gwyn meets a boy. Not just any boy, but one she is certain she has met before.

Only that's not possible.

Gwyn lives in the last city of men, where memories are made through repetition and yesterday is forgotten with the reset.
The world has peace, what's left of it anyway. Peace that has been gained through sacrifice.

But as behavioural school ends and Gwyn is sent out into the work force, she discovers that not everyone resets. Not everything is as it seems. The peace they live in is as fake as the masks they wear in the clubs. She starts to see that the walls surrounding the city, to keep the monsters out, might actually be keeping them in.

And maybe the boy she thought she knew, isn't what he appeared to be at all.

Don't miss this exciting new Post-Apocalyptic Romance from the author of the bestselling series The Born Trilogy!

Editorial Reviews

Review

This is the 4th of her books I have read. The last was the Born series which was also original and awesome. I have to say she is an incredibly gifted writer. I don't even understand how she was able to project the feelings and emotions that you would have when you wake up each day with no memory of the day before but I felt it as well as the gradual change to not being reset. I must say that once again I am not sure which boy I would pick because they're both perfect for our heroine in different ways. I can't wait for the next one. I loved watching our girl grow and go from some one who wasn't weak but to some one who was definitely stronger. If you're looking for something original with a dystopian theme you should definitely read this book, if you're impatient like me I might wait tell the whole series is out, no you should just read the book, suspense is good for the soul. Keep writing, Tara, you have a gift.

5.0 out of 5 stars What a great love triangle! July 7, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
I must say first off that I am a huge Tara fan The Lonely being my favorite seconded by Vengeance. I however took a bit longer to read Imaginations I had to reread a few spots where I just wasn't picking up the storyline as I should have. But once I got past my few snags I eased into everything else. Gwen I thoust was a great female role and the no yesterday really got my mind thinking as far as how would I feel to not know a yesterday knowing all that I know at this point of my life. And all this happening to a seventeen year old her WHOLE LIFE! Its just crazy and then there is mister mysterious and the boy that Gwen could see herself wanting to be with in the long run. Gotta fan myslef cause that girl is gonna have some hard choices in her near future along with some trouble I think. I am excited for more of this story don't get me wrong but there are a few others of Taras that I want to be pulled back into first. Happy reading all!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Could not put it down!!!! Reminded me of Born July 16, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
I didn't know what to expect with this book. I've been waiting on the born trilogy New book and I needed something to read and I saw this one so I read it. The first few chapters were odd and I found myself being sucked in. Gwyn wasn't the heroine I expected but grew to like and the development of her character was very believable and was well paced unlike some other books I've read. I really liked bran and Lyle. They were very easy to like and even though this book has a love triangle which I'm starting to get sick of, it was handled pretty well and was made a little more interesting in this book. There were a lot of aspects floating around in this book and some things were answered and some things were not. I'm hoping we find out a lot of answers to things in the next book. There were a few similarities to the born trilogy but not many. I found Tara did a great job with this book and she is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors everrrrrrrrrrrrr!!! So if you liked the Born trilogy definitely check this book out its worth the read!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Bran or Lyle June 24, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
Bran, not sure what to think of him, as the first pages start to roll along, "Calm down. Trust me, you don't want to know. Just promise me you won't tell anyone and you'll meet me. I'll explain, I swear. Meet me after class, I'll walk you to the tram." Bran is just so...so... damn hot! "I could never. I'm keeping you safe right now, just don't fight me on this. I need you to see this." Oh my God I just love him and I can totally go on and on it's how he speaks and his charm, "It means you're a naturally curious girl and I am a boy with answers and a charming smile. Science says you'll be able to stay awake." Then there's Lyle who is just a sweetheart, "As we have been paired already we will be living together in the city. I can only assume they mean to marry us. I cannot do so without your consent, sir." There are times I feel for Gwyn like seriously I wouldn't want to live in her world, "You're all using me. The planners, you, Lyle, everyone is using me. I'm not smart or good enough to be a planner on my own so you manipulated me?" Lyle is truly a sweetheart, "One of these days, you and I are going to stay in a bed and I am going to show you how much I love you." I liked the book it was entertaining and there was never a dull moment.

5.0 out of 5 stars Tara Brown does it again! July 10, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Interesting twist to the dystopia theme. Strong and instinctive female characters the reader has come to expect from this author. The men certainly do not disappoint.

Having read most of the author's books,i have to say that I find it most interesting that the primary source of savagery or violence comes from the female leads. These women may begin as clueless pawns, but they learn and evolve into fighters. Even knowing what they face doesn't stop them from making the tough decisions.

I'll be reading whatever this author writes.

5.0 out of 5 stars Couldn't help but love it!! August 8, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
In my option I find this book to be a well thought out masterpiece. There was everything and more. My only problem was the bad formatting. I think it was just the e-book but there where a lot of errors within certain parts or the punctuation. If it wasn't for that I doubt the price for the book wold be so low. And it was pretty hard to follow along with the story because of the sudden change

4.0 out of 5 stars The prolific author Tara Brown Has a HIT again!! August 7, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
A fully developed futuristic story with characters so well developed that I am am left wanting more. MANY "trilogy" novel can not produce books that can stand alone. This didn't feel like a book that was simply one story and later split into three parts. Tara Brown fully developed this story and will leave you wanting to read the next book! That is exactly what I will do next.

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved it June 25, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I have to say, when I started this book I was not sure if I was going to enjoy it. I loved the premise but I didn't really know how well everything would tie together. Boy was I wrong. This book was great. I breezed through it in about a day. I can't wait to read the next installment. Well done Tara Brown.

More About the Author

I am the mother of two beautiful girls who are growing up so fast, the wife of a cute guy in a uniform (my own personal hero), and a writer.
My family will tell you it doesn't exactly fall into that order. Especially around dinner time when I "Cook" from a takeout menu with my face plastered to my computer.
I also have two cats who I adore more than I should, like more than people I know, and a dog. He is a beagle who is naughty but just so darned cute. He gives you that little beagle face and then steals your slice of pizza.
I have a busy mind and even busier fingers. I can write fast and keep track of a large cast, but I can't remember why I'm at the grocery store. I try to write lists but they always end up being notes for books or indie bands. I LOVE INDIE MUSIC!
I talk to myself in the car and sing too loud for my skill level. The invention of Bluetooth has made talking in the car less awkward but if you hear me singing, run.
I love writing. I love my characters like they are my friends and I am telling their version of the truth.
My worst flaw is the horrid English accent which I read everything with. If I read aloud it comes too. I'm not English, so I can't even do the accent which makes it awkward for anyone who is nearby.
My favourite authors are Robert Jordan and Jane Austen and Robert Mccammon and Jim Crace. I think Stephen King and Dean Koontz have the most unique imaginations. I have the hardest time not LOVING Catcher In The Rye by J.D. Salinger. I know all the serial killers have a copy but I adored that novel. It made me feel a thousand different things and one of them was more alive. (And not in the least bit serial killer-ish)
When I grow up I want to be James Patterson or Nora Roberts. I aspire to be like them, always trying to hone my skills and work harder.
My genres are all over the map. I have Paranormal Romance, Contemporary Romance, Science Fiction, Erotica (under Sophie Starr my porn name so my mom doesn't know), Thrillers, and even some Romantic Comedies.

If you would like to reach me for whatever reason, please visit me at my facebook page - facebook.com/TaraBrownAuthor. You can also email me at tarabrownauthor@hotmail.com

Thanks for checking me out and I hope you got lost in something I wrote or it made you so HAPPY/SAD/BLISSFUL/TURNED ON/ANGRY/EXCITED/FRIGHTENED/HORRIFIED/MAD that you couldn't believe it.

The list of what is coming out this year is not completed. I will keep my Facebook page as up to date as I can.

Here is a short breakdown of my genres and pen names.

TARA BROWN- My main page and essentially my brand. Books published under Tara Brown will be adult and mostly suspense and romance. The Lonely and Single Lady Spy Series are among those. Not intended for young readers, at all. 18 and over.

AE WATSON - My pen name for Young Adult books. Born, HERE, The Seventh Day, White Girl Problems, etc. This is my page that is safe for YA readers of a mature reading level.

ERIN LEIGH - Adult Romance and Chick Lit. 18 and over recommended reading level.

TL BROWN - Adult Paranormal, Science Fiction, and Fantasy. NOT FOR YOUNG READERS AT ALL!!

SOPHIE STARR - Adult Only Erotica. NOT FOR YOUNG READERS AT ALL!!!!!!!!

Hope you have a great day and of course, happy reading! Remember to read at your comfort level. Not all books published by me, Tara Brown, are suited for everyone.

Tar
