These are brilliant stories, among the best we've seen in the last 10 years. Stunning, cunning prose and beautifully surprising plots--the kind of world you used to enter as a child, sitting in a library room, the dizzy feeling of lifting your head and finding the light had changed without your noticing. I don't know of anything better in contemporary short fiction. If you don't love this book, there's something wrong with you.
