5.0 out of 5 stars Imagine This!
Pieces Of A Dream (on what I believe is their third album)
have a sound that is both mellow and potent.Mellowness by the way basically describes the bulk of what's here-softly jazzy pop/R&B with the occational Brazillian flourish. But three funk tunes make this album worth the investment as I look at it-first there's "For The Fun Of It",something of a proto hip-hop...

3.0 out of 5 stars picking through the "pieces"......
this is a pretty decent lp from the group who were still young at the time of this release, but on their 3rd lp. the opening title track is a very nice and warm instrumental with some nice playing on the synthesizer and piano. "for the fun of it" sounds like what you would hear as background music if you were on a basketball court back in the summer of 1983, lol, but...

"for the fun of it" sounds like what you would hear as background music if you were on a basketball court back in the summer of 1983, lol, but the track is still good! "fo-fi-fo" got a little urban radio airplay from what i can remember, and the guys do a nice cover of quincy jones and herbie hancock's "tell me a bedtime story". these 4 tracks make for what is a decent album for a relaxing evening at home.

These guys started out with a lot of promise but never lived up to expectations. This was their best CD. It was worth it for Fo Fi Fo, The Shadow Of Your Smile, It's Getting Hot in Here and the awesome Tell Me A Bedtime Story by Herbie Hancock. Every other CD I have heard from these guys is disappointing.
