I was really surprised to see the negative reviews of Imaginext. We purchased the starter set two years ago when it first came out and have been adding to our collection ever since. My children have every Imaginext set/figure/vehicle produced to date. Imaginext is by far their favorite toy. We have NEVER had even the slightest problem with the pieces staying together. My children (7,5 and 2) play with their Imaginext pretty much every day. They love building "pirate islands" and "pirate ships" and then acting out battles and treasure hunts. Even my two year old can put together the pieces and play with her older brothers. Phantom Island is a fun new addition to the Imaginext line. The working volcano and the skeleton hand are my children's favorite parts of this set. I'm sorry that some people have had problems with Imaginext. We are very pleased with the variety of playsets offered and with the durability of this product. I have recommended this product to family and friends and I will continue to do so. We all love playing with Imaginext.

My 6 year old has been playing with Imaginext since he was 4 and he loves it. He has never had a problem reconfiguring it or getting it to stay together. Everytime a new item comes out he wants it. My 3 year old even loves playing with it. I think the sets are very durable as well. In the 2 years he's had it, we haven't had a piece break yet and he plays with it a lot.

I recommend this for any parent that has a child who enjoys building and pretend play.

Both as a father and as a toy collector I really love the Imaginext toys from Fisher Price, especially the playsets. I find them extremely well-made and detailed nad easy for kids to use. Most of all they are very fun and give kids a real sense of wonder and adventure that is lacking in so many toys today.

The Phantom Island playset is designed for use with their other Pirate themed figures and playsets although it can stand alone on it's own. This spooky playset is two-part island/lagoon and the hideout of Captain Bones and his band of skeleton pirates. There's treasure to be found hidden on the island but you have to get past Captain Bones' devious traps including a spiked pendulum and skeleton cages. Also has a volcano that can be set off. The Set comes with two skeleton pirates and a glow-in-the-dark skeletal boat for travel. The Island's large skull also glows in the dark.

My 2 1/2 year old loves all things scary and just loves playing with this set. Fun and well-made.

My son absolutely loves his Imaginext toys. He got his first ones when he was 3 1/2 and is getting more for his fourth birthday. I was very hesitant about getting the sets as others had said that they fall apart very easily. I have not found this to be true. My son carries this to his sister's room without anything coming apart. There are small pieces that could be lost and it does require adult assembly at my son's age. This line of toys is the only thing my son has said that he wants for his birthday.

I recommend this for anyone (just wait till you hear the different voices your child creates for the bad guys and good guys!!!

This is our 5th imaginext set. I like this line. Now that my son is 4 vs 3 I like it even more. I think it is a bit frusterating for a 3 yr old because they want to move it and cart it with them. It is not really designed to do that and will come apart. But when they aren't moving it from room to room, none of our imanginext has ever just come apart during play. It has also been quite durable, no pieces have actually broken. I like that you can break down the island/buildings and easily store them in a box, that saves on space. Another plus is the pieces are interchangeable with all the other and older sets--that lets the toy change into different buildings. Lets them use their imagination. This set actually glows in the dark. Even my son who is turning 7 soon loves this line. This has been a good toy for us.

This line of toys is about imagination. My son got his first Imaginext Pirate ship at age 3 and is now 4 and has never tired of it and wants the whole collection. He loves all the different figures and and their accessories. He loves being able to "blow up" the Phantom Island and although I have to reassemble it for him it is worth seeing his enjoyment. I would definitely recommend this toy line to kids with active imaginations and parents with patience and skill level to assemble small part toys.

My son got this for his Birthday and enjoyed helping me put it together. We got a little frustrated that the plants and skeleton hand kept coming off. Otherwise, he really has enjoyed playing with it and making the volcano erupt. Overall a good toy.

We just got this... GREAT. The eldest daughter and I had it together in less than ten minutes (we are the builders) then the other three kids jumped in to work it and play with the features. Now the two older kids (11 girl/12 boy) and I are trying to come up with a combined island with our two Buccaneer Bay sets and some of the other tree pieces from the lost fortress... we want a BIG island to explore.

Our favorite feature? It's a tie. First the HAMMOCK! Whooo - we were using Lost Fortress rope ladders on the Buccaneer Bay playset for forever! And then the TORCHES... "The tribe has spoken!" Whooo! More Survivor meets Imaginext fun!

This is a great toy for my 6 yr old nephew. I saw him and a friend playing with this and they were having a ball. I need to get more sets to go along with it! Also, it is of great size!

My son, 3 1/2 enjoys this toy, the plants fall off easily but that is not taking away from my son enjoying this toy.
