My son got this toy for his 5th birthday and absolutely loves it!!! The first day, he played for six hours straight. He loves all of the extra little fun things that Fisher Price thought of...the trap door, the shooting water that knocks the fire over, the siren, the hook, etc. It didn't take him long to figure out how to put the pieces together. It is like a new toy every time he plays with it. He also got the introduction package for the castle imaginext toy. I love that all of the pieces are interchangeable we can expand. I also like the fact that it is a big toy that can be broken down easily for storage. He is a big Rescue Hero fan and I think that this is a great way to extend his imagination.

I recently took my turning 5 year old son to Toys R Us to pick out something for his birthday. I was amamzed at the rescue center. My son could hardly wait to get home! I bought him all the sets that went with it except the construction site (didn't have it!) and couldn't believe I got out of the store with so much for so little money. We set up the police station and fire department, and he has played hours upon hours! This has got to be one of the best ideas from Fisher Price! My hats off to them!

We bought the fire rescue set for my son's 4th birthday. It is a wonderful toy. It is very durable, limitless set-up options and great for the imagination. He interchanges characters from other sets and has a whole Jack Stone, Playmobile, Imaginext story going on. He's also used the firehouse as Wayne Manor and the Batcave. Yes, he has quite an imagination. It is truly a great toy and we will buy the police station and other accessories for Christmas. Thanks Fisher-Price for another great toy!

I purchased this item at my local [store] and my 6 year old son could barely wait til we got home to play with it. He already has the police station. We are going on approximately 5 hours of play time and he is still not bored. Young children will need help at first putting together but once they get the idea of how to do it just step back and let them go. Every once in awhile I hear my son saying EMERGENCY, EMERGENCY!!!! With the massive heat wave we have had this week this has been an absolute lifesaver. Alot of thought went into all the little parts that go with this. Is definitly worth the money and would definitly reccomend!!!!! Also this is a great follow up to the rescue heroes!!!!

This system is lots of fun. Once its put togethera child 4 and up can have hours of fun. Its taking it apart and putting it together that needs an adult or a child 6 and up. My son is 6 and has aliitle trouble pulling the sections apart. This toy is great for an older child. Though a younger child will be able to grow with it.

We bought this toy for my son last Christmas (then 6) and he loved it. We didn't find it too difficult to put together - I've received worse (like Hot Wheels sets!)but it did take alittle time. There are alot of little pieces that go along with it, but that has allowed our son to use his imagination even more. He plays with it endlessly and has even used his own money to buy other Imaginext items. We've added on the Construction site & Police Station, and he and his friends can hang out and play with it all day.

Last Xmas, I bought the firehouse, construction site and police station for my then 3-year-old son. He's now 4...and he and his older sister still play with this thing regularly. It's sort of like a "doll house" for boys in that they can dream up all sorts of scenarios...my kids have incorporated dinosaurs, Barbies, Hello Kittys, etc into the action. Yes, it often needs to be reassembled, especially if your child is closer to 3 and if he's rambunctious. But it gets better as they get used to it and get older. One bit of advice: Of the three things I bought last year, the firehouse was the best, construction site second best. The police station seems to get the least amount of action, and falls apart the easiest.

I bought this for my nephews, ages 4 and 7. When they opened it up they were so excited, when they started dumping ALL THE DETAILED TINY pieces out I left the room! LOL. Their 16 year old brother had to put it together. After he got all the pieces together, the boys were so excited, they started playing and it started falling apart! Their brother had to repair it I have honestly lost track of how many times. The boys get frustrated, so they have put the top part of the fire house up and just play with the bottom portion. I think it needs a tube of superglue included in the box! Fun idea, not durable at all.

My son got this toy for his 3rd birthday. It came with lots of tiny little detail items, like a breathing apparatus for the fireman, and little axes to fit in their hands. I sighed heavy and hid almost half of these little trinkets assuming that I'd be stepping on them in the dark for months until they all got lost. The instructions for putting the station together were quite complicated, but once we got it together my boy was thrilled by this set. He loves the little fire truck with the tow hook attachment. He loves the tiny fireman and the paramedic (appropriately attired with gloves on!). I will admit that the set was hard to put together, and once my son had thrown it across the room in a fit of pique and it had to be re-assembled, my husband and I were stumped as to how to get it to assume it's original configuration. No worry though, it was still a delight to play with. After a few months I relented and retrieved the little accoutrements from their hiding place, and it was like Christmas in July. My son has now placed a container near this set where he stores all the little accessories, so my fear of walking on all the little bits has proved unfounded. We were also bemused by the "fire" that could be placed in the fire station's windows in order to create a rescue situation, but that just adds the adult mirth when we get conscripted into play. ("Hurry! The fire station is on fire!"). There is no little doll within the kit to "rescue", as pointed out by one of the reviewers, but that hasn't stopped my son from rescuing plastic sheep and dinosaurs (who also are capable of running the station when the fireman and the paramedic are sleeping on the little cots that come with the set). Overall, a big win at our house. I plan on adding more pieces to this set this Christmas. One additional note: this set contains a lot of little pieces and may not be appropriate if there is a younger sibling in the house.

My son received this toy and the police station for Christmas. He loves to play with them in several different ways. Sometimes he just likes taking it apart and putting the pieces together in his own unique way, other times he uses the figures to enact rescue or police missions. He does understand how to snap the pieces together, but does need help understanding how exactly to create a building out of the pieces. As for durability, so far the only thing that broke was a policeman's riot sheild, but that can easily be glued back together. And believe me, my son has played hard with this toy. I don't understand the reviewers saying that the pieces fall apart with the slightest touch, I sometimes have to use a bit of muscle to get them apart for my son. You just need to make sure the pieces really snap together. We were so pleased with this toy that we just gave him the Coast Guard Station for his 3rd birthday. Yes, he's only 3 years old and loves these toys. You have to evaluate your childs abilities to see if this sort of toy is appropriate for them. Our son loves firetrucks, puzzles, and playing make-believe so this toy is perfect for him. Your mileage may vary.
