Best chest imaging reference,
By Tom "raindog" (Brazil) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Imaging of Diseases of the Chest, 4e (Hardcover)
Just the best reference book on chest imaging. Lots of useful boxes, great emphasis on differentials, good pictures in all modalities. I'd like to see more histology pics on the edition. I'm a fan of Nestor Muller's books, but this one is superior to his recent release (Expert Radiology Series). For a resident I'd recommend Webb and Higgins' book. Hansell's text is quite easy to read but it's too long for a thoracic imaging rotation. I recommend it for thoracic imaging fellows and someone who wants a more in-depth text.

The best single-volume chest radiology book.,

This review is from: Imaging of Diseases of the Chest (Hardcover)
If you've seen the second edition, this edition is a big improvement, with much better coverage of CT and MR. It's an excellent book both for radiology residents and practicing radiologists, who are looking for a single-volume text which is both readable, and sufficiently comprehensive to use as a reference. Top-notch.

Great book. Covers all the topics in detail. Only wish I could make it a little lighter! It is hard to lug this around to the hospital when I need to read it. I work in a pediatric radiology department and the library has not yet invested in this edition. The coverage of HRCT and topics like Wegener's granulomatosis is exceptional. Figures are clear and depict the findings very well. The authors, who are world-renowned experts in their field, must be commended for yet another fine tome.In fact, one of the authors examined me in a mock viva at a London course in 2002 and although I did well with his questions, I still remember being in awe. It was great to learn from him again while reading this book!!

I bought this item for my wife. She is a radiologist and has been using a paper back version of the same book. Most of the pictures in the paper back version are not clear and confusing. This was an excellent replacement. She loved it.
