Book Description

January 15, 1995 0781701538 978-0781701532 1st
Featuring more than 700 superb illustrations, this volume is the first up-to-date correlative imaging text and atlas for the definitive diagnosis of scrotal diseases. The book offers guidance in detecting and evaluating all of the major scrotal diseases, making full use of all clinical imaging modalities--ultrasound (including color Doppler), computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, nuclear medicine, and angiography. For each modality, the book provides complete coverage of imaging techniques, describes the specific risks and bioeffects, and identifies common imaging artifacts. Chapters are organized by anatomic site for quick reference, and cover all commonly seen diseases of the scrotum. For each clinical entity, the book considers pertinent epidemiology, associated clinical findings, modality-specific applications, and recommended imaging sequences, and illustrates the pathologic findings seen on images. The final section of the book is a unique self-examination atlas that helps readers test and improve their skills in the analysis of scrotal images. Simulating clinical practice, the atlas presents clinical data from 130 cases. The cases are illustrated with images from which the reader can make his/her own diagnosis and then compare it with the diagnosis given in the text

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful and visually unmatched text!, January 27, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Imaging of the Scrotum: Textbook and Atlas (Hardcover)
Hricak's text is thorough, comprehensive and visually stunning. The 700 plus images contribute to an area of medicine that has been historically overlooked: the Scrotum. His use of cutting edge computer generated and digital imaging, accompanied by an austere yet revealing textual analysis make this text required reading for any medical professional or researcher working in the field of "Advanced Scrotal Dynamics". The asthetic merits of the word--scrotum--notwithstanding, the textbook and atlas is not limited to the subject of its title. It includes much needed material relating to the Cowpers Gland and Seminal Vesicle as well. Imaging of the Scrotum is a veritable feast for the eyes. Be swept up in the cutting edge academic field "Advanced Scrotal Dynamics". This is a must-read for anyone as fascinated with the field as I am!If so, then "Imaging of the Scrotum" is exactly your kind of bag!(no pun intended)

5.0 out of 5 stars Topography taken to new highths!, March 17, 2003
This review is from: Imaging of the Scrotum: Textbook and Atlas (Hardcover)
Unquestionably one of the most profound topographic achievements of the 21st Century. What began as mere childhood fancy for Hedvig Hricak, has bloomed into the most supreme achievement of the modern Topographic sciences.

No longer can any man dispute the supremacy of mans ability to map. I was amazed at the pure accuracy of which Hricak's atlas was composed , several times I found myself discovering moles and freckles on my own Scrotum which I had not even been previously aware of. there is only one word which can truley describe this book " Spectacular ".

This review is from: Imaging of the Scrotum: Textbook and Atlas (Hardcover)
This has got to be the finest scrotal study since Sheynkin, Jung, Yoo, Schulsinger, and Komaroff exposeded scrotal hyperthermia in laptop computer users. Hricak has elevated the playing field with this book. Now there's a reference that explains all the scrotal questions that have been raised in discussion panels worldwide. This book is THE tome of scrotal knowledge. Buy it now, you won't be disappointed.
