We can all benefit from more Umoja,
By A Customer
This review is from: Imani's Gift At Kwanzaa (Multicultural Celebrations) (Paperback)
This is a great way to introduce children to other cultures, and specifically to Kwanzaa. One child, excited about celebrating Kwanzaa, learns that it is not about just her, but about Umoja or unity with others.

Imani,
This review is from: Imani's Gift At Kwanzaa (Multicultural Celebrations) (Paperback)
Imani's Gift At Kwanza tells the story of how a Grandmother helps her grandchild understand Kwanzaa while braiding her hair- a typical ritual that many African Americans girls experience every day. I liked the way the grandmother used the symbols of the red, black, and green to describe what Kwanzaa meant to her. In other words, Kwanzaa is an African American Holiday that means something different to everybody.
