What Did The Survey Say?,

I look at games to be fun, but also very exciting at times. For game shows, they really sometimes miss the enduring excitement that the television shows really pull off. For so many of those as board games, they fair well, but could be improved. For game shows like Wheel Of Fortune, Jeopardy!, and Pyramid, they hit the nail very well as board games. Another one that has hit that stride before was Family Feud. The game really has had different variations whenever it came to the board game phase. Yet, Family Feud also has had that over 25 years with hosts like Ray Combs, Richard Dawson, Louie Anderson and Richard Karn. Yet, the way this game show has been put to DVD is really a surprise to what the survey says.
The Family Feud "Survey Says" DVD game is really quite different from the longtime successful game show. The DVD game features Richard Karn, the current Family Feud host, and his announcer Burton Richardson as the voiceover. The game features 800 questions which does provide a lot of fun, but the game really isn't like how the longtime game show is played. The game deals with 2 players at home, trying to match all the Top 5 answers on the survey, with a twist. Both players must try to out score the opponent by scoring the most points on each question round. With a pair of duel question rounds where both must answer the same survey question, and the fast money question round where both are given seperate questions to answer, and match the surveys. The graphics and the feel of the game is alright, but it sometimes doesn't feel like the traditional orgaic feel that Family Feud made over all these years. This game does offer a nice little twist to the longtime game show, but some may feel this isn't worth the money. All in all, Richard Karn also could've read the 800 questions, instead of Burton Richardson. Some may feel interested in this game, but others will not feel the need to say, Survey Says!! Graphics: B Questions: B Overall: C+

Do you love the Family Feud?
Do you love predicting what other people think? Do you love Ray Combs? If you answered yes to any or all of the above questions, do not buy this game. You will be extremely annoyed with the survey answers. It almost seems like they trapped 100 monkeys in a cave and let them slap random answers instead of surveying actual human beings. A sample question is as follows... "What is a complaint people have with valet service?" Three of the "answers" were 1) Driving too fast, 2) Driving carelessly, and 3) Unsafe driving. Hmmmm.....brilliant! The only fun we had with this game was making fun of it. So, in conclusion, if you have an enemy and you want to ruin a birthday, Christmas, or a Bar Mitzvah buy them this game. You will be guaranteeing them hours of misery and pain.

My husband and I played this game with another couple and we were all disappointed that it is very different than the game show. We all agreed that it could have and should have been made more like the actual game show. It was a waste of money.
