Billie Ray Martin - Imitation Of Life,
This review is from: Imitation of Life (Audio CD)
Billie Ray Martin has never been one to shy away from drama, and IMITATION OF LIFE is no exception. Oddly enough, David Morales is able to turn the track happy (a tune the sounds much better in its dub form), while the Brothers in Rhythm retain the mood of the original. In their "Padapella," the Brothers go entirely beatless, creating a HI-NRG torch song of sorts. When it comes to emotive dance music, accept no imitations!

I remember jamming to this song in South Beach during the mid 1990's. Good re-mixes of a talented artists who never really hit it big mainstream.
