this album does nothing but expose the raw power and beauty in dino's voice. nearly every single track,in some way or another shows the intensity of dino's raspy masculine vocal capabilities. the song 'pink sky' is one of the best on the album. many of the later tracks are impressive as well. if you are fed up with commercialized r&b and want to experience music that you fall in love with because of its truth and the feelings behind it, begin with real unmolested soul, begin with this classic

The fellas have done it again! Just like fine wine, they keep on getting better with age. All the way from the first to the last track your left wanting more and more. Imitations of life takes you on that roller coaster of emotions impacted on every topic imaginable but this journey is not one that would be disappointing what so ever. You'ld be missing out if this cd was not playing in your favorite player. Imitations of Life is truly epic and the legacy of our dear Dino will live forever though his music. Their voices are crisp and smooth and the music will have your car or house bumpin'. We love you, H-Town!!!

This is without a doubt their best album. Problem is...no one has a clue about its release.

THIS CD IS JUST AWESOME, SIMPLY PUT, DINO HAD ONE OF THE BEST VOICES IN MUSIC HISTORY, SOULFUL, YOU FEEL EVERY WORD HE SINGS. THE MAN WRITES, PRODUCES AND PLAYS ON THIS ALBUM, AS HE DOES ON EVERY ALBUM, HE IS JUST A TALENTED MAN ALL THE WAY AROUND, HE WILL ME SORELY MISSED. I MEAN UT I HAVE BEEN AN H TOWN FAN FOREVER, BUT REGARDLESS THIS CD IS JUST HOT AND WILL BE A TREAT FOR ANYONE NO MATTER WHAT YOUR MUSIC TASTE IS. DINO'S SOULFUL VOICE AND SHAZAM AND G.I.'S HARMONIES WILL GET NEW FANS WHO NEVER HEARD OF THESE GUYS WITH JUST ONE LISTEN...BUY!!! BUY!!! BUY!!! From track one to the last each song is goooood! You get your money's worth on this cd! The best song on here is Pink Sky! Why in the world didn't it get any air play, I don't know. As much of garbage they play today on the radios this song was sung from the heart and you feel every word he says! If you really want to listen to good music buy this record!

First of all it is so good to have H-Town...my favorite R&B male group back on the scene!!!!!

Sexy, soulful legendary H-Town has done it again, Imitations of Life proves H-Town is worthy of their multi-platinum status. H-Town has stayed true to the type of music they do best but has given us many surprises with this new cd. We are witnessing H-Town stepping it up many notches. It's a combination of their first three albums and then some.

Sexy H-Town succeeded in bringing us some rock, drama, romance and love, as well as always taking the time to uplift us females. Their sound is the same in terms of that good ole southern R&B flavor but they have managed to touch on some rock and blues. I just think it proves H-Town is cream of the crop...truly Houston's and the industry's best. In my opinion no one does R&B better !


I love the entire album, but their are a few forerunners: Nothin In Common, Let's Just Make It, My Pink Sky, Cryin Out My Heart To You and Feel Like Fire. It's apparent H-Town was preparing an earth-shaking come back and they did it!!! If you want to experience joy, comfort and love..if you want to be on your feet jammin endlessly, then go get the CD !!!

I am so in awe over this album. I new that they were gooing to release an album before Dino's death, but I didn't hear anything about it until now. I just so happened to stumble across it. I have been a BIG BIG fan of H-Town's since day one and no one or group will ever take their place in my heart (although some have tried)! I was in total shock when I heard of the Dino's death and I just knew that I've lost H-Town forever, but this album just... I can't even find the words. i've only listened to a few tracks so far, but that's all I need to rate them because they NEVER let me down. I just want to thank the remaning members for releasing this album and giving me what I've been missing from all the other music out here. My heart goes out to you guys and your families.

That's how I describe this album. It's a shame I would have never even knew this album was out there if it wasn't for word of mouth.
If you miss out on this album you are truly missing an R&B Masterpiece. So let all of your friends know that the masterpiece is out there.
REAL R&B

Dino was truly a gifted singer that went before his time. I wish he had went solo and let the world really see his talent. It seem the group was caught in trying to be independent without the musicianship to make a sound that could stick out or compete with the R&b group of the era. This album has very dated sound. Then with the two the other guys lack talent. You had a group with a gifted singer that never got his props or his just do. Love you Dino, I had some good times to your grooves. God Bless.

H-Town has done it again for 2004 this album is hot i would give 10 stars if i could my favorite tracks are back home to loving you / pink sky/ lets just make it with crystal cooner day i die which was made before the car accident iin houston that took the life of dino the leead singer of H-town and hiis girlfriend rip Dino H-town for ever. but all of their albums are good .
