A Dialogue between Hindu and Christian Thought, January 4, 2007
This review is from: The Immanent Divine: God, Creation And the Human Predicament (Paperback)
The Immanent Divine is written by one of the most thoughtful and well-informed religious scholars in America and in the world. An American citizen of Indian birth and a compassionate practicing Christian of powerful intellect, professor Thatamanil's book deserves a wide audience. His analysis of Hindu thought in relation to Christian faith is a stimulus for awakening the faith of ultimate concern rather than that of mere social conformity.

This review is from: The Immanent Divine: God, Creation And the Human Predicament (Paperback)
The Immanent Divine is an intellegent and well-writen book which sould be of interest not only to theological prodessionals but also to laymen familiar with theological writing. It must have taken courage for the author to take on a comparison of two as seemingly divergent thinkers as Sankara and Tillich and so convincingly show how they may engage each other in comfortable dialogue. This book not only informs but also challenges one to think "out of the box."
