5.0 out of 5 stars classic is a fitting description, May 22, 2007
This review is from: Immer (Audio CD)
though m. mayer records less than he produces and remixes, this album is the classic it has been said to be.

it is lush, sexy, dreamy, minimal, and yet when layering takes place it is done so tastefully that it never seems done for no reaon.

it is really cool, more suited for night listening. headphones better because some of the sounds are soft, so it plays better as i say "against a canopy of silence" like most of this genre does.

5.0 out of 5 stars Pure Genius, July 22, 2007
This review is from: Immer (Audio CD)
I'm an music-lover who leans towards electronics. I was amazed at how beautifully crystal clear Mayer's CD is. Since I've entered the 9-5 work world I've lost tough with "the scene" and found this one a real gem that woke me up from my slumber. There is good music out there!

Now that's my feelings. You should probably treat this disc as one fine example of minimalist techno/electronic. The kind where you're intrigued with the simple beats and then amazed when the clean rhythms hook you in.

5.0 out of 5 stars A high point for minimal tech-house, July 12, 2007
This review is from: Immer (Audio CD)
Perhaps one of the more well-known releases from minimalist tech-house German record label Kompakt, this album truly lives up to its status as one of the best tech-house releases of this decade so far.

Don't let the words "minimalist" or "techno" scare you away, for this album is very memorable and danceable. It is also well-suited for chilling out with a pair of great headphones.

Mayer successfully mixed and morphed the original songs to make them his own.

Highly recommended.
