5.0 out of 5 stars The truth is NOT out there!, April 26, 2010

This review is from: Immerse in Infinity (Audio CD)
It took me a long time to stumble across this Polish death metal band. It seems like it took longer for it to arrive in the mail. This was an immensely difficult album to find, and the outlet that did have it took over three weeks to ship it. Was it worth the wait?

What we have here is an infintely heavy technical death metal album that immerses its listeners in the vast and endless vacumm of space. I remember reading some time back that "this album with grind you into space dust." That tidbit didn't prove to be far off the mark.

Now, mind, this isn't your typical tech death album. It has a unique sound that uses spacey synths and keyboards blended with uber-punishing death metal sounds. One could say that the sound is almost haunting in nature, if you consider the fathoms of infinity as haunting. There are some crisp guitar leads in here as well as ultra-violent drumming that delivers blast beats at some absurd multiple of light speed, if that is even possible.

The vocals are not quite as gutteral as some of their peers, rivaling the vicious barks heard in Nile's latest work, but they maintain their edge and manage to sound singularly like death metal vocals.

The album art will blow you away. First, this doesn't come in your typical plastic jewel case. The packaging is like noting I have ever seen. It is a cardboard case that opens in four directions. You open four flaps to get to the CD itself, and when you do get there, you find yourself staring at spooky profiles of each band member, one on each flap.

This album contains just eight songs. The shortest is just over 5:00 in length, while they average just around 7:00. This is still a compact album that allows listners a chance to take it all in, but isn't too short to fully enjoy.

If you can find it, I highly recommend this album. This is a dark masterpiece that is every bit as good as, if not better than, Vader's best work. That is saying something. Immerse in Infinity gets 4.9/5 stars.

5.0 out of 5 stars Their best ever!!!! 8 tracks over 50 minutes!!!, July 16, 2011
This review is from: Immerse in Infinity (Audio CD)
First of all I have been a fan of Lost Soul since their Relapse debut.."Scream of the Mourning Star" in 1999/2000 and after a 5 year hiatus this masterpiece comes to life with a all new lineup of members with Jacek Grecki the bands front man and lead guitarist the only original member..to compare this album to it's predacesors is much the same as comparing Deicide's last 3 albums to their "Hoffman Bro's era Deicide, simply put..more technical faster and better overall production and a heavier what I call older Morbid Angel type guitar sound (7-string low A tuned) Jacek Grecki also had a custom V-shape 30 fret "Infinity" guitar a 7-string with a single Seymour Duncan 7-string humbucker pickup and a tuning fork shape headstock built for this album and touring from a Polish guitar maker called P.Kamecki he also plays their 36 fret "Rapter" 7-string with one EMG pickup and "Rapter D.N.A" 7-string guitars. the last song on this album uses African drums and percussions to introduce you to the song kinda' in Exodus "Pleasures of the Flesh" type of flavor then brutal assault charges at you like a head rush from hell and beyond..multifold digipak is a bit annoying on how it opens but the content more than makes up for this one little glitch.

5.0 out of 5 stars A TECH DEATH MASTERPIECE !!!, July 22, 2010
This review is from: Immerse in Infinity (Audio CD)
this record must surely be in the top ten of death metal albums for 2010.
a complex cosmological ,technical death album with phenominal guitar work and solos!
incredible thought provoking lyrcs!
i cannot believe how good this is and believe me i know my music,i am a 40 year old who has been listening to death for many years
and the bar has been raised with this record,it is that good.
heavy as f**k,intelligent.
to be honest i don't know much about this band except they are from poland
i took the gamble cause i loved the artwork
in my opinion this is better than vader and possibly even better than decapitated, certainly more epic and mature!
