5.0 out of 5 stars Great Book for learning Mandarin, February 21, 2011
This review is from: Immersion Guides' Mandarin Phrasebook (English and Chinese Edition) (Paperback)
I have been learning to speak Mandarin for 6 months, My tutor (who is chinese) referred me to this book to prepare me for my business trip to China this past month. Needless to say the book was a lifesaver in numerous situations I had not been prepared for. I enjoyed the slang and funny commentary it offers on learning the language. All in all it was a huge help and arrived very quickly!! Thank You!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Immersion Guides' Mandarin Phrasebook (English and Chinese Edition) [Paperback], July 3, 2011

This review is from: Immersion Guides' Mandarin Phrasebook (English and Chinese Edition) (Paperback)
A good friend of mine recently went to Beijing, China and had a wonderful experience abroad. She recommended this book to me and told me it was her "key to survival". The most common phrases are all included with pictures as well. I started perusing it briefly and fell in love with it. It is very useful with needed topics divided up into very logical sections, like transportation, restaurant, shopping, etc. I purchased my own copy and plan to use in the next week for when I travel China. There is simplified chinese it's english translation and the pinyin as well for pronunciation. I plan on bringing it everywhere I go and could not imagine leaving the house without it. Color coded sections/topics make it even easier to locate phrases that are needed in certain situations. Overall it is very well organized and resourceful if Mandarin is not your strongest language.
