I first discovered Siobhan when she joined Debi Peterson ( aka The Bangles ) to form the band, Kindred Spirit in the early 90's. I was captivated by her haunting, stunning vocals. After the group disbanded after only one album, I had lost track of this gifted artist. Surfing the internet, I by chance came across her new album and ordered it via Amazon almost immediately having not sampled the first song. I was initially shocked at the drastic change of musical styles but soon warmed up to her new, raw, earthy sound. Even thought the production lacked less focus on her etheral vocals....it still manages to shine through. I am eager for a follow up were she pens her own music and finds her own niche....she is a true talent and gifted vocalist and i hope we don't have to wait another 10 years for that to be discovered.

She's touring with Steve Earle's now, saw her last week (Nov. 19, 2002) at the Recher Theater in Towson (near Baltimore), Maryland USA. She was delightful, did a couple of songs as lead singer including Julie Miller's "Kiss on the Lips" (a very nice version, I have to say, even though I'm a huge Julie Miller fan). Steve talked up her CD, so I had to buy it!

A chance introduction to Siobhan Maher Kennedy's music. I am sure there is room for another Pop Diva, (there better be). This album blew me away. Have since discovered that Siobhan was Liverpool's River City People vocalist. A rock chick with soul. Loved the CD, want more. Stylistically diverse, just a sample of what she can do. Want some more.
