3.0 out of 5 stars 1. OK 2. Passable 3. Down right was awful!
The first story, "Night Ecstasy" by Rebecca York, was an Ok read. The viagra part was alot to swallow, no pun intended. The story would have been great if it had been a little longer with a little more time for the couple to fall in love. But all in all it was definitly the best story.

The second story, "Velvet Night" by Rosemary Laurey, was passable...

5.0 out of 5 stars three erotic, enticing and enthralling vampire romances, September 12, 2004
This review is from: Immortal Bad Boys (Paperback)
"Night Ecstasy" by Rebecca York. Artist Taylor Lawson moved to New Orleans to escape a clinging ex-boyfriend and to find new inspiration. Taylor meets Jules De Mario and a magical connection forms. Taylor realizes that he is playing with her mind and when she notices the two bite marks on her neck she concludes her lover is a vampire. She doesn't know about the future but with Viagra they enjoy a normal sexual relationship. This is a very romantic vampire story.

"Velvet Night" by Rosemary Laurey. Washington D.C. police officer Vickie Anderson vacations at her Blue Ridge Mountains home where she meets fledgling vampire Pete Falcon. He is so attracted to Vickie that he wants her to be his first human feeding. Vickie isn't aware of his true nature but feels the same. When she finds him caught in a bear trap and sees his fangs, he confesses the truth. He is a DEA agent looking for a meth lab; Vickie assists him although she knows that when he closes the case he will leave on his next assignment. Rosemary Laurey writes a terrific vampire romance starring two characters deserving of their own series.

"Midnight Court" by Linda Thomas Sundstrom. Vampire Lord Dante drinks enough blood to survive. He accepts the invitation of Lady Elizabeth Rothchilde to visit her at her brother's castle. While there, he has sex with and drinks from Lady Elizabeth but his attention is caught by Alan Rothchilde's fiancée. Elizabeth tests Dante's feelings; if he fails he will never leave the castle for Elizabeth is humanity's avenging angel. MIDNIGHT COURT is a spellbinding tale.

These three vampire romances are erotic, enticing and enthralling.

3.0 out of 5 stars 1. OK 2. Passable 3. Down right was awful!, June 14, 2005

The first story, "Night Ecstasy" by Rebecca York, was an Ok read. The viagra part was alot to swallow, no pun intended. The story would have been great if it had been a little longer with a little more time for the couple to fall in love. But all in all it was definitly the best story.

The second story, "Velvet Night" by Rosemary Laurey, was passable. Again it would have been alot better read if there was a more in depth plot, with the couple falling in love a little more slowly. It would have been even better if she would have been shot and him turned her. However, I do get that these are short stories, but the writer could have expanded it more.

The third story, "Midnight Court" by Linda Thomas Sundstrom, makes me wonder how this author was ever chosen for this type of book. It was down right awful! The story line is very tough to follow. Yes I did eventually get certain points, but there was no romance, no nothing. At least in the first stories there was romance. The story made no sense.

I would have given the book a four had it not been for the last story ruining the whole thing. Wait until you find this book at a used book store before you spend full price.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun, erotic group of stories, December 6, 2004
This review is from: Immortal Bad Boys (Paperback)
I really enjoyed all three stories in Immortal Bad Boys. Although one individual critiqued this book and gave it a lowly one star for one character's use of Viagra, it was actually a very fun twist. I passed the book along to my sister and she loved it so much she asked that I send her a copy for Christmas! I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys sensual vampire characters and stories. Very well written.

1.0 out of 5 stars How disappointing!, September 24, 2010

I can't believe how poorly written these three stories were. The first, Night Ecstasy had no character depth at all. Velvet Night could have been written by a seventh grader who really likes exclamation points and Night Court was very confusing and disjointed. What a waste of money.

3.0 out of 5 stars Yawn... Bad boys? Not even misbehaving..., July 15, 2006

Story 1 was OK. Nothing spectacular, but an OK read. Story 2 was the one I found most enjoyable... at least until the end. The backstory cleaned up nicely in a paragraph while the heroine sat at home. Pu-leeze. Story 3 was horrible. Overdone drama and a hero that taunted his prey with ridiculous prose and riddles before eating them... and that was the hero. This one was so bad I couldn't stomach reading it.

Overall it was OK, but I'm glad I didn't buy it new.

4.0 out of 5 stars Love those bad boys, October 3, 2004
By
Judy "book reader" (Cincinnati, ohio United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Immortal Bad Boys (Paperback)
Immortal Bad Boys brings three steamy stories about those bad boys of the night.

Night Ecstasy by Rebecca York has Jules DeMario needing to find a partner and an equal. Taylor Lawson contacts Jules to show her the sites and sounds of New Orleans. Their attraction is hot but can they turn it into something more. Jules and Taylor are both tormented by their past. Their story is very moving as well as sexy.

In Rosemary Laurey story Velvet Nights Vickie Anderson is on vacation from her stressful job as a DC cop. She doesn't expect to meet a man like Pete Falcon in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Pete, a DEA agent is a newly turned Vampire. He is still trying to get a handle on that when Vickie enters his world. Pete and Vickie share a passion that scorches off the pages. Their story is steamy and funny..

Linda Thomas-Sundstrom tale Midnight Court has vampire Christopher Dante, who is enthralled by the future bride of his host. But his lover Elizabeth Rothchilde knows more then what she is saying about the goings on at midnight court. Elizabeth has her own plans for Dante. Elizabeth and Dante each have their own agendas but they are more alike then either will admit.

Looking forward to more bad boys stories... Pete was my favorite from these stories.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Twists on Paranormal Relationships, September 7, 2004

This review is from: Immortal Bad Boys (Paperback)
I loved the first two stories by York and Laurey. In fact I liked Rebecca York's story so much that I read the last ten pages many times over again. It contained a new approach to who is the strong partner in a paranormal relationship and a very surprising contemporary twist to solving their problems. I did not like Midnight Court. It was different but in a confusing way. I could hardly keep up with the dialogue and found myself reading sentences and paragraphs over again because I didn't get their meaning. I'm still not sure what to make of the story or what relationship the hero and heroine had and will have in their future. I just felt like I was reading a type of prose that required too much thought and thus did not allow for enjoyment of the story. As you can see, others do not agree with my assessment and perhaps it is just a matter of taste.

1.0 out of 5 stars Viagra & vampires, November 27, 2004

This trite & ill concieved anthology is only just saved from
the recycling bin by the presence of a fairly readable
novella by Rosemary Laurey.
Rebecca York's offering involves an emasculated creature
of the night, whose use of viagra makes him about as
darkly erotic as a piece of wet lettuce.
This is a sad, & frankly time wasting bit of nonsense from
the previously enjoyable Bad Boys series.
My advice, save your money for those writers like Angela Knight,Laurell Hamilton, Sherilyn Kenyon & Maggie Shayne who
very definately know how to play in the paranormal
darkside

3.0 out of 5 stars I didn't get it!, December 25, 2004
This review is from: Immortal Bad Boys (Paperback)
I read the last story, Midnight Court twice and still don't understand it! Who was the "angel" and why was she locked up for so long? Who is Elizabeth? Why didn't we ever see Alan? If Dante has been intimate with Elizabeth before, why has he never had her blood? What had Alan done to Elizabeth's feet? Sorry, I've read over 1000 romances, including many paranormal, and I've never been so confused. Otherwise - ok stories, but NONE of these men should be considered Bad Boys!

5.0 out of 5 stars erotic paranormal to the max!, August 28, 2004

Great reads in this anthology. Rebecca York and Rosemary Laurie are good story-tellers, weaving their spells of paranormal delight ---- but my favorite was the last story in the anthology - Linda Thomas-Sundstrom's MIDNIGHT COURT. Finding it after reading the others was like hitting velvet after cotton. Different feel, era, and even vocabulary. Deep, dark, rich stuff - A standout in an already very good compilation of vampire tales.
Try this book! You'll like it all, and you'll be rewarded when you get to Linda's offering.
