5.0 out of 5 stars superb paranormal romantic suspense, March 8, 2009
This review is from: Immortal Bride (Silhouette Nocturne (Numbered)) (Mass Market Paperback)
During their honeymoon, Olivia Kingston-Gray vanished without a trace. Her husband Damien is stunned and grieves his loss; compounded by her body not being found as her corpse lies on the bottom of the Lake of Tears. Damien comes home to Grayson in the Upper Michigan Peninsular only to be greeted by his angry dead wife, a ghost.

Olivia believes Damien killed her though she cannot understand why especially since they just married. She seeks vengeance, but soon watching her spouse's sadness and grief concludes he never killed her. She also realizes he is danger from the evil of past blood spilled as Damien's cousin Nathan, a Native American shaman, plans to remind his relative of his heritage. Willing to lose her eternal soul to keep her beloved Damien safe, but not sure from who or what, Olivia soon realizes she possesses the impossible; the only thing she will never sacrifice even for her beloved spouse.

This is a superb paranormal romantic suspense starring a grieving lead male and an irate deceased female wanting to send him to hell; not realizing at first he is already figuratively there. The support cast is strong as it enhances the relationship between the Grays while providing the impetus of some fabulous twists. Lisa Childs writes a powerful paranormal thriller that groups the audience from the moment we meet Olivia at the bottom of the lake.

5.0 out of 5 stars Revenge beyond the grave turns to immortal love, March 1, 2009
This review is from: Immortal Bride (Silhouette Nocturne (Numbered)) (Mass Market Paperback)
There have been numerous stories where the spirit of a murdered person comes back to avenge their death, but this is one of the rare cases where that person's spirit finds out what really happened to them and who, through her preternatural heritage, gets a second chance at love.

Olivia Grey drowned in a lake known as the Lake of Tears, on her Native American husband Damien Grey's tribal lands, thinking that her husband, whose first wife died under similar circumstances, had a hand in it. Unbeknown to her, Damien has been grieving her loss to the very depths of her soul, not knowing that the vengeful spirit of a shaman-ancestor had a role in the deaths of Olivia and his first wife. When she tries to attack him, she unwittingly sets in motion a series of events that bring the truth to light and uncover a tragic legacy and a family legend of immortal love come to back to life.

As in her previous Silhouette Nocturne offering, the Witch Hunt trilogy, Lisa Childs is unabashed in presenting her characters as living, breathing people who feel love and pain strongly and whose feelings the reader can rejoice in and feel compassion for. I cried and rejoiced as I read this book!

1.0 out of 5 stars Worst she's written!!, April 11, 2009

This review is from: Immortal Bride (Silhouette Nocturne (Numbered)) (Mass Market Paperback)
I won't go into the actual story, other reviewers already have. I WILL say that I was VERY disappointed in this book. It had a great premise but man, talk about boooorrrring!! Not to mention you can figure out the 'bad guy' just about straight up. It was just too predictable. I can tell when I'm bored with a book, I end up just skimming through the whole thing.....assuming I can make it to the end that is.

I'm honestly tellin' you guys like it is. I'm not sugar coating this book like some of the other reviewers. Don't waste ya money on this one OK. I've warned ya!! The rest is up to you Babies.
