This review is from: Immortal Cities: Children of the Nile (Video Game)
When this game first came out, years ago, I thought it was a re-packaging of the game Pharoah with the add-on Cleopatra. When I finally realized that this was an entirely new game to me, I could only find it here. My timing was perfect for buying the game. Tilted Mill released an update to it very shortly after I started playing it. Be sure to get the update from their website if you buy this game. It fixes some bugs and adds brickyards which make the game much more playable. The funny thing about my purchase from here is that I received the UK version of the game. I wrote an e-mail to a friend in the UK, who loves Pharoah. She bought a copy of CotN on clearance in the UK, and it was the US version. We both found that hilarious. Both versions work the same, but you need to get the correct patch for your version.

I love this game. It is a relaxing change from the other city-builder games that I own. Buildings don't burn down if you look the other way for a minute, and you don't have to be constantly planning the most efficient routes for delivery people in the city. The editor is a little buggy but works well enough that a large number of player-made mods have been made available on the Tilted Mill forum. I recommend that you check out their CotN forum if you want to read more information on the game and/or see some screenshots. Be sure to choose the Children of the Nile forum section, and not the Nile Online section. Nile Online is a multi-player CotN-derivative game, only playable online and requiring real-life money to get very far into the game.
