I read this in 6 hrs I couldn't put it down! The characters come to life & it felt as if I was watching a movie of it in my head & honestly I liked it better then twilight! I recommend this book to anyone who like vampire romance & it even throws in witches for you. I bet you will LOVE this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Immortal Embrace June 16, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I just purchased this book this evening and sat down and read it. It is now 2:00am I couldn't stop reading. I enjoyed how the first book has started out and I enjoy the plot being laid out. I love the characters that have been introduced so far and I am really looking forward to more. I have read many other Vampire series and I feel like I am pretty picky, If the story doesn't grab my attention in the first couple chapters its not gonna happen. After the 3rd chapter of my sample I had to purchase the story to finish the story! I will definatley be looking forward to the next books in the series.

5.0 out of 5 stars Heartwarming!!! August 9, 2011

Immortal Embrace is a story about a girl name Sophia Pierce who was tragically turned into a vampire. When she was embraced by her new vampire family, she found hope and the support she needed to move on. Living a very long life can be a bit boring for a teenager, especially when you don't have many friends. But soon enough, she bumps into a mortal, Nathanial, who utterly takes her breath away. Her thoughts are consumed by him and she wonders why she is drawn to him besides the fact that he smells delicious. Lucky for her, Nathanial is head over heels in love with her and accepts her for who she is.

Immortal Embrace was enjoyable and I was hooked from chapter one. There are many wonderful characters, but I found myself attached to Sophia and her family. This heartwarming story will pull you in as you read about Sophia, who wants to be a normal teenager, but can't. Though a vampire, she tries to found her place in life. She is also grateful for all that she has. I highly recommend this book to all the young adult readers.

1.0 out of 5 stars been there...done that.... February 22, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This is a kick off of twilight, vampire diaries and charmed combined. Don't waste your time. The characters were flat and cardboard. Development was terrible. I am ashamed that an author would copy plots from these other books. How shameful! We could all become writers just by copying other books and putting different titles on them. Too bad I wasted my time with this one.

1.0 out of 5 stars Copycat May 29, 2013

Let me start off by saying I actually enjoyed the first half of the book. But I had to quit reading it. A vampire family that lives off animal blood moves into town. They have a new family member who still struggles with the thirst. A witch family has aligned themself with the vampires due to their life style and they provide them with daylight rings. Seem familiar? I loved this story, but it's been told before. Twilight and The vampire diaries were combined to make this book. The author has a great writing style, but I kept feeling deja vu and wanted something new.

1.0 out of 5 stars Drags, boring April 5, 2013

This is like an awful mix of Charmed, Twilight and Vampire Diaries. The writing is all over the place and jumps around constantly. I read 33% of the book and just couldn't take it any more. It's awful!

I really wanted to enjoy this more than I did but I found it very predictable. I was disappointed with the story and let down by the writing style. We were `told' everything and `shown' nothing if you know what I mean, so I felt like I was reading someone's diary rather than a novel. Adjectives were few and far between and even though I don't like books over written and filled with metaphors etc I realised after reading this that we need something!! A dialogue and thought driven story is clearly not for me as it lacks the `umph' I need to hold my interest.

Maybe I read too many `vampire' books or watch too many `witchy' programmes but to me this story seemed like a combination of them all rolled into one book! The large family of vampires who don't agree with killing so have a diet of animal food and donated human blood. The witch enchanted jewellery that allows them to walk around in daylight, the mind reading, predicting the future, the appearance of wolves long after they have become extinct and the vampire in love with a human!! None of the ideas are new or fresh...... I felt like I had already met these characters before, and their story was all too familiar.

5.0 out of 5 stars Must read December 18, 2011
Format:Paperback
Immortal Embrace is not like a Twilight movie or book. There are more than just vampires, there are witches as well. The author did research of places as most authors don't. The book held me to the edge of my seat and I finished it the day I got it. It was nice to see that there were more than just vampires, but with the witches it give it more pizazz. The following of Sophia and Nate was understandable because of what Sophia saw her brother do to someone he loved and Sophia trying to resist love with someone that was meant to be with her as a soulmate made it more exciting to see her resist the love she was beginning to feel for Nate but not wanting to go thru what her brother did. It's a five star book and deserves more. Can't wait for the entire series as I have followed this series. I think the book was well written and kudos on excellent writting.

More About the Author

Charlotte Blackwell author of The Embrace Series is delighted to have the opportunity to follow her dreams of writing. She would love to share a little bit about her self with you now.

Charlotte was born in October of 1976. On the day of her birth Charlotte's father was racing stock cars, while her two older sister's watched from the stands as their father crashed through the wall of the race track. Within moments the stock car he was driving came back through the wall, and he won the race. He took his two daughters and hurried to the hospital for the birth of his third daughter, Charlotte.

Raised in Edmonton, Alberta, Charlotte enjoyed swimming, singing (although not so great at it) and writing her thoughts down. She never shared her passion for writing with anyone, and it got put on the back burner. As Charlotte grew, she found a new passion in medicine, she became the athletic trainer for her high school men's basketball team. Helping the team through their injuries are some of her best memories as a teen.

After the birth of he first daughter Jorden, Charlotte moved to Calgary, Alberta where she returned to college for her practical nursing certificate. During her schooling Charlotte became pregnant her second daughter, Shawnee. Due to complications, Charlotte was put on bed rest and have to step away from school. Shawnee was born and not breathing, the staff worked to resuscitated the small baby, and succeeded. Charlotte returned to school only six weeks later and completed her course. She began working with children, and eventually in the special care nursery for ill and pre-term babies.

Charlotte and James finally decided to get married in 2005 and completed their family with a son, Lucas in 2006 who was born six weeks early and had three surgeries by one month old. Today all three of their children are happy, healthy and very active, Jorden is a very talented dancer and singer who performs with The Young Canadians and performs at the Grandstand show nightly during the Calgary Stampede, she is also home schooled. Shawnee is an amazing artist and hopes to become a fashion designer one day .Both girls are honor students on top of their activities. Lucas is still young, but has enjoyed kick boxing and wants to try his hand at hockey and baseball.

Charlotte and James live with their children, two huskies and two cats just outside of Calgary, Alberta. They cherish every moment they have together as a family and hope to soon travel the world. James and the children have been great supporters of Charlotte from day one and continue to cheer her on along the way. Shawnee has also tried her hand at writing and recently completed an illustrated children's book. I guess writing is in her blood.

Charlotte has a strong passion for young adult novel especially those in the paranormal or dark fantasy genre's. As she continues to work on The Embrace Series, Charlotte is also working on a mainstream romance and a science fiction novel involving alternate universes. She will continue to up date this site with her work and what is next, and she thanks you all for your support and encouragement.
