3.0 out of 5 stars A good read, but really quite ridiculous
This is a novel, but the author encourages the reader to think that most of it is actually true, fictionalized only because (as the main character cynically explains) a wholly true version would "lack a certain glamour necessary to attract an audience." In other words, the teachings of Idaho businessman J. J. Dewey sell much better when presented as the teachings of a...

This review is from: The Immortal (Paperback)
JJ Dewey has found for us, the key to immortality and healing. As we walk through life and are tested by life events, it's our decisions that keep us positive or negative.

St. John the Divine, it is said, must walk this earth until the Lord returns. He was given guardianship and dominion over the earth and continues to teach as a true disciple so that we can understand ourselves, our life, our concerns. Every person we meet in this lifetime brings an opportunity to heal something in a past life - especially those we love, who are close to us. Our enemies bring us the challenge of change and reorganization.

Then Dewey brings the reader forward in the the New Jerusalem and explains what afterlife could be and what to expect.

Excellent reading for anyone who works with hypnosis, past life regression, NLP, or energy healing work.

If you believe we all have a Mansion waiting for us after death, this book is a must read. It must have been written by the hand of the Divine.

5.0 out of 5 stars This book might change your life., April 13, 1999
This review is from: The Immortal (Paperback)
This is a book that really rings true in my soul. One of the best I ever read (and I have read quite a few!). No doubt in my mind: "The Immortal" is a very special gift to mankind. "The Song of the 144,000" is worth a try for all spiritually interested people, I think.

5.0 out of 5 stars priceless gem found in spam, January 22, 2000

It seems strange to me that the only negative comment about this book is the WAY the book came. I read it in 3 days because I couldn't put it down and I continue to read the teachings of JJ Dewey. Once you've tasted Manna you never go back to rice cakes. The growth in my life has been so amazing it's not possible to describe it and it is in direct cause of reading The Immortal. Frankly, I don't care if it is in fiction form. The truth that is in there sings just as loud (perhaps more so) because I HAVE to know it for myself. JJ, thank you.

5.0 out of 5 stars Change Your Life: Read This Book, January 22, 2000

Quite simply, this book has changed my life.

Even though it was written as fiction, eternal truths weave through every page. Truths that uplift the spirit and give one hope for the future.

Dewey gives a new (but strangely familiar) slant on many subjects that have consumed philosophers, religious teachers and ordinary seekers for eons, such as: who we really are, what our mission is, the nature of God, the work of the Brotherhood of Light, soul contact/Christ consciousness (to name just a few). His teachings on these topics filled my heart with joy - here is a man who knows the Truth!

I have no doubt that Dewey is a significant teacher with a God-given mission to assist prepare the world for the next stage of its evolution. I am also certain that this book is one of the most important books to be written in years.

If you have a yearning in your heart to understand the mysteries of life, read this book. But be prepared to never be the same again.

5.0 out of 5 stars Answers for sincere seekers of TRUTH, December 2, 1999

This is the one of the most thrilling pieces I have ever read, because it confirms what Jesus said, that there would be some that would not taste of death as written in the Bible, in Matthew. This book will make you look inward and at yourself in an entirely different way. If you believe in miricles, you will believe this one. He has made the first 21 chapters free to read on the web, by just doing a search on the title. This little free-view absolutely made me thirst for more! I had MANY inner questions answered and confirmed. As a whole, it makes for great reading and spurs you into looking forward to MORE of what the author will have to offer.

5.0 out of 5 stars True love, spiritual quest, great adventure and more!, November 2, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: The Immortal (Paperback)
After Chapter One of JJ Dewey's, The Immortal, was sent to me online, I was hooked..... Romance which could define true love once and for all sets the background for a great spiritual adventure which left me more hopeful for the future than anything I've read. Through the immortal, John the Apostle, one is led to search for The Keys of Knowledge in such a way that you feel your mind stretched and exercised the way a good yoga session works the body. My mind was constantly at work comparing these teachings to my own life story; answering questions, putting people and experiences in a new perspective and opening my heart in a new way. Not since Jane Roberts reminded me through Seth Speaks how we truly create our own realities have I had such knowledge given me through a book. This was timely reminder of that truth.

Thoroughly entertaining and intensely thought-provoking, this is one of those books I keep coming back to.

It was so refreshing to read new twists on the same ideas regarding God, who we are, and why we're here. Not only did this book make me laugh, cry, and hang onto the edge of my seat, I also felt more enlightened after every read.

If you have an insatiable thirst for knowledge, The Immortal is sure to satisfy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to read, impossible not to read over and over!, November 22, 1998
By
This review is from: The Immortal (Paperback)
This book is written as fiction, although anyone who has read it agrees it is NOT fiction. The Apostle John, the Revelator, teaches the author, who, in turn, teaches the reader, a new method of discerning the truth termed as the "Intuitive Principle". Intuition is not new, but the method of using intuition to rise above the "beast" is being presented as a old but new method, thereby providing the reader with a most valuable asset of communication through the soul with the Christ Himself. Another principle introduced is the "Oneness Principle". In addition, the explanation of why John is a true Immortal is simple and believable. There are many truths in this book that John easily explains that make sense, such as reincarnation, karma, the New Jerusalem, The Ancient of Days, Shamballa, to mention a few. The author, Mr. Dewey has done an excellent job of communicating a story about his encounter with John, the author of the Book of Revelations. It is not channeled material. Is it fact or fiction? Only those who have ears to hear and eyes to see will be able to discern the answer to this question.
