Book Description

September 29, 2009
Three centuries ago, vampire Jason Rourke succumbed to temptation with a wizard's lovely daughter - and that brief taste of pleasure earned him a powerful curse. Trapped within a painting, unable to quench the hellish thirst that torments him, Jason has given up hope of escape until Karinna Adams purchases the painting and unwittingly frees him. At first, Jason plans only to enlist Kari's help in navigating this strange new world so he can find and punish the wizard who entrapped him. But Kari's enticing sensuality and innocence incite a growing need in Jason to touch and taste her, to possess her utterly. For the gulf between them - and the danger that awaits - is nothing compared to a potent, primal hunger that will last for all eternity...

1.0 out of 5 stars Just Awful, October 22, 2009
By
Traci King (Indianapolis, IN) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Immortal Sins (Paperback)
I can't understand what happened to Amanda Ashley's writing. This is nothing like the other books I've read by her. It is as if a novice wrote the story. It's so unbelievable and stiffly written. The characters are cardboard, their words stilted and their actions childish. The premise was a good one, but the execution was dead on arrival. I skipped around, left whole chapters unread and could barely finish it. The love story was laughable. It's the 21st-century and a 25 year old virgin named Kari meets a 700 years old vampire named Rourke. She can't bring herself to make love to him because she is constantly either afraid, confused or just plain stupid. I vote for the latter. He proposes, I suppose because she won't have sex before marriage, how quaint. I actually cheered when Rourke left her (What happened to the proposal? Perhaps the answer is in one the pages I skipped). I was hoping he would never come back. Kari was the worst heroine I have ever come across and Rourke was so dumb that I could hardly believe he was an old vampire. I could care less who ended up with who or who ended up dead - real dead not just vampire dead. I wanted Vilnius to kill them all and be done with the story. I have seen better writing in a comic book. Wow what a disappointment. Don't waste your time on this one.

1.0 out of 5 stars oh man..., October 24, 2009
This review is from: Immortal Sins (Paperback)
I bought this book on a whim, mainly because I've read some short stories of Amanda Ashley's and enjoyed them. This book was just just beyond awful. I have read some bad books, but this one really takes the cake. Her main female was boring and the vampire wasn't interesting in the least. There was no real development of their characters or relationship. I rolled my eyes every time the main character sat down for another meal. If you read this, that's all you'll really get... A lot of tv watching, meal eating and kisses that make you feel nothing for the characters.

3.0 out of 5 stars It was okay, November 12, 2009
This review is from: Immortal Sins (Paperback)
I've only read two books of Amanda Ashley's - this one, and Dead Poerfect. I have to say that she is a very good writer and I love her male characters, their thoughts and feelings. They are done well. Overall, Immortal Sins was okay to me. The story line and the ideas were great. I just wish there had been more romance and more focus on the characters being together. They were seperate for a lot of this book. Not to mention when it finally got to the both of them 'making love' it was very, very disappointing.

I've also noticed that between the two books I've read that it has become a little annoying how much the female main character is eating - all the time - throughout the book. It's likely just me, but I really just didn't care what she was eating all the time. Though I am also guessing this is the authors way of writing. Anyway, I'd say this book was average overall.
